We have been involved in the fabulous breed in both breed confrontation showing and breeding for 30+ years. We breed sparingly but pride ourselves in producing a sound true to type dog suitable as a loving family member, and for the show ring if desired. We specialize in combining the best of overseas and NZ breed lines to produce a fun loving dog to suit most family environments. We stand behind our dogs for the duration of there lives and support our new owners with information, training guides and fun puppy get togethers to ensure a good fit for you and your family. Our breeding stock have all been tested for JME ( all dogs clear) DM. ( all dogs clear ) All carrying excellent Hip and Elbow score, as well as some other tests that come in the test package for the RR A copy of all of these will be included in the puppy take home pack and explanation of each available upon request. Sandridge Rhodesian Ridgebacks is based on a 20 acre farm high on a ridge of the Korowai o te Tonga peninsula made up of two million year old sand dunes, overlooking the Kaipara harbour, about an hour north of Auckland. Our kennel is founded on some of the finest true to type Rhodesian Ridgeback bloodlines. Our aim is to preserve the very best of the breed by producing great temperaments, sound conformation and fabulous character in all our dogs. We're founder members of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Union, the only RR club in New Zealand dedicated to mandatory health testing and publication of the results for breeding. Our dogs are successful as show dogs, much loved members of the family and obedience competitors. All our puppies are properly socialised in a busy household as part of our family life. Our dogs have been PennHip and ANZ elbow scored for dysplasia (low risk) and DNA tested clear for Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy, Degenerative Myelopathy, Haemophilia A & B and D Locus Dilution (blue) gene, . Your new puppy will have: 1st health check & vaccination. Checks for Dermoid Sinus Wormed every 2 weeks from 2 weeks of age. We are a Dogs NZ approved breeder of Rhodesian Ridgebacks located in North Auckland. All breeding dogs are DNA tested and screened for hip and elbow dysplasia. Our dogs are very much part of the family and we like to include them in our everyday activities. Rhodesian Ridgebacks originally were bred as an all purpose, versatile, tracking, running and lion hunting hound. Although there seems to be a lack of lions New Zealand, we aim to keep our dogs 'fit for purpose' (just in case), along with nurturing amazing temperaments to make fantastic additions to families. Our foundation girl Chili-Pepper (from Germany) moved back to New Zealand with us at the end of 2022, bringing new lines and diversity to the Ridgeback community here.
