Polarmoon is a Samoyed Breeder located in the Wairarapa. A Dogs NZ Breeder adhering to the rules, we do not, and will not show our dogs. Inbreeding is widespread in pure bred dogs, and this carries substantial risks to dog health and longevity. With an academic background in cell biology and genetics, Polarmoon focuses on low coefficients of inbreeding and good ancestor loss coefficients. Our dogs are health tested with good results. We emphasize environmental enrichment, and socialization with people and other animals from a young age. Our dogs are first and foremost, members of our family. They live, sleep and work with us in our home. We do not rehome older breeding dogs and all of our dogs have a home and loving family for life. Our puppies are for sale to approved pet homes (an information sheet will be provided, and an interview required) and come with a comprehensive contract including a 'take back' guarantee in the event the new owner becomes unable to care for the dog. Our puppies come with considerable information on both the breed and dogs in general including care and handling. We are available to provide any assistance required throughout the life of the dog. We brought our 1st Samoyed in 1981 . Had our 1st litter in 1987 after spending several years studying pedigree's & health issues in dogs. Our Samoyeds are a large part of our lives and the reason we brought a rural property 28 years ago for the dogs to run in the paddocks and sleep with us at night.
