Established Alfoxton Dog Centre in 1995 where we run Training Classes and Workshops as well as the Boarding Kennels. (Licence) Working with families and their pet dogs and love to travel seeing what new training techniques are developed. Involved with GSD in the 80's. However we then switched breeds in 2005 to the amazing Australian Shepherd - We run a few Meet and Greet Information Days each year to allow the public to learn about this great breed.

Breed - Australian Shepherd Puppies Available

We hold 3-4 Meet & Greet INFORMATION Days a year. We invite the public to come to our Centre and meet a variety of adults dogs who live with different families to learn about the breed. This helps to decide if an Aussie will fit your lifestyle. M&G's are advertised on the Alfoxton Facebook Page, email for information. Alfoxton Dog Centre has run training classes since 1993. We understand how important it is to have dogs with the right temperaments to fit into human society. Started breeding in 1984 and since then have developed our own intensive Puppy Enrichment Program. By the time our pups head off to homes they are experienced in car travel, meeting new dogs, visiting outside homes as well as exploring our farm. We encourage new owners to visit and bond from the times pups are 3 weeks old - even attending some of our puppy classes. Our own dogs live with families and actively involved in Promotional Displays at public venues. Also working in Classes and Workshops. With over 30 years breeding experience (initially GSD now Aussies) we still prefer to only breed perhaps 3 litters a year - this allows us to enjoy the process of working with dogs and still have the time required to raise our pups and support new owners. Alfoxton is proud to have our breeding dogs scored for Hip and Elbow as well as DNA testing. Member of the following Assocs: Dogs Vic - 3008015490 (since 1979). Our next Breed Meet & Greet Day is - SATURDAY 18th APRIL 2026 This is held at our property in Wandong (just North of Melbourne on the Hume Hway) We love to provide families with the opportunity to meet a variety of dogs and chat with owners with varied lifestyles about how it is to live with this active breed. This can help you decide if this is really the breed for you. We have mated our red girl 'Heavenly Lilly" with 'Skyepark Braveheart' and all currently going well and we are expecting pups are due after Easter - We also have one of our black girls who has come into season and she is due to be mated shortly. Breeder's Notes

INFORMATION PACK. This is our priority - it is not about giving you loads of 'stuff' to fill a showbag... We provide information WITHOUT the expensive commercialisation that we now see in modern dog ownership. In fact our aim is to give a practical, cheap and sensible approach to help you thru the first two years of your dogs life. This will then set you up for all of your dogs life. This includes our FIRST AID BOOKLET - a sensible approach to help you thru the 'scary' health situations - built from 30+ years of hands on experience working with animals. SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT. As a Professional Trainer I see the importance of the social developments of pups especially from the 3-12 week stage... Hence once we have allocated pups to their homes we encourage visits from around 3-4 weeks of age. This means you get to know your pup and the pup gets to know you so the bonding process can begin early. Also provides you multiple opportunities to ask questions and then to prepare your home for the arrival of a new pup. No different than brining home a human baby you need to think about the changes needed in your environment to make this an easy transition.
