We started with Boxers in the UK. I was lucky enough breed Vivyd Stars n Stripes a Crufts Best Dog winner in 2000. I emigrated to NZ and in 2012 bought a Black n Tan Coonhound for my husband to hunt and track. We fell in love with the breed. Tragically we lost our boy at just 4.5 years old after battling several serious health conditions. We have waited 7 years to be able to import fresh bloodlines to NZ. We are really looking forward to breeding our first litter in 2026

Prefix : BAYHEM (Black and Tan Coonhound)

Bayhem is a new kennel name, but we are not new to pedigree dogs. We started out in the UK in 1987 where we had amazing success showing and breeding Boxers under the Vivyd affix. We have since fallen in love with the American Black and Tan Coonhound. Originally we were drawn to the breed for its hunting and athletic abilities. The husband is a keen deer Hunter and we wanted to use our dogs for tracking wounded game in the bush. We have both gotten a little older and much of the hunting now revolves around possum eradication and pest control on our properties in the Far North. We have imported a foundation bitch with new bloodlines from Australia. She’s completed her NZ championship with ease and is currently doing Scentwork, Tracking and Rally-O. We aim to have the first multi-titled Coonhound in NZ Health, temperament and being fit for purpose is paramount to us. We have been through the heartbreak of losing a dog well before their time. We aim to produce beautiful, intelligent, robust and easy going hounds that are capable of doing a days work and then curling up on the couch as your best mate. If all goes to plan we will expect our first litter of Coonhounds next year.

Next Litter Planned: July, 2026
