About This Breeder

I have been breeding Lowchen since 2004 with our current breeding program tracing back to my early days in the breed. Our dogs are bred in the home and are well socialised with children, cats, chickens and horses! While we breed for showing, our dogs have been successful across a spectrum of dog sports, have contributed to the foundation of many breeding programs in Australia and Internationally, and they have robust and sound temperaments which make them a delight to be around.

Kilgarrin was established in 1971, with our first Lowchen joining our family in 1982. Our modern Lowchen breeding has been unbroken since 2004, spanning many generations. While Devon has been breeding and showing Lowchen, Dean has forayed into the ring and Alex is set to make her entrance in 2026. We selectively breed quality Lowchen aiming at healthy, well adjusted happy animals for companions, show ring and other disciplines. Our puppies are raised in the house and are well socialised. Kilgarrin Estate is situated on 20 acres in Western Victoria, where our Lowchen and Performance Horses reside. Whether you want a Lowchen as a pet, show dog or for dog sports, we can assist you! We have consistently take out National and State point-scores.
