MAHELU

Our Beginnings - We are a small dedicated kennel located in Weipa, Far North Queensland, Australia. We began in Central Queensland and travelled to NQ and FNQ for shows until we moved to NQ and now FNQ. Mahelu is all about "Quality not Quantity", is what we have strived for since starting in this breed over 30 years ago. Our Kennel - Our prefix is derived from the names of our 3 sons. Mahelu Labrador Retrievers focus on quality, soundness and type, but most of all the importance of a true Labrador temperament, drive and willingness to please. All our dogs are health tested. Our Labradors - Are part of our family, they live in our house, join us on camping adventures & holidays. We breed for ourselves first, this means we only breed to introduce a new member into our family. The other puppies in the litter are destined to become a loyal loving Labrador in your home. Our Dog Sports - Has included Obedience, Endurance Test, and Agility, but mainly Conformation Showing. We have had the pleasure of guiding many dogs to their Australian Championship title, whether they were our own dogs or loved by others. Scent Work and Obedience will be starting very soon Our Future - We plan to attend a limited number of confirmation shows across Australia (while on holidays), but our main aim is to love having Labrador Retrievers in our home that make for wonderful family members.
