Here at Windybrae, we pride ourselves on breeding dogs that are sound and of great temperament. All our dogs are DNA tested for heritable traits and diseases, eyes checked by a certified canine ophthalmologist and hips & elbows scored under the ORCHID/CHEDS scheme. We are nestled in the Mid North of South Australia and occasionally have puppies available to loving homes who can spend time with these wonderful, intelligent, active dogs. A long time love affair with Australian Shepherds has brought us to our love of the Miniature American Shepherd and our first imports into South Australia. Arwen (Ch Hampton Hills Faith Works @ Windybrae (imp USA) (Painted Lil Bar-KL Leap Of Faith x Hampton Hills Milwin Silver Sequence)) was the first to arrive in May of 2024. Arwen has been DNA tested clear for all heritable diseases including Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (NAD) and non-HSF4 cataracts. Hips and elbows have been scored and her eyes are checked annually (clear for 2025). Our second import, Primo (AUS Ch. BLK Ch. BIH Gr. Ch. ME Ch. RKF Ch. ROM Ch. RUS Ch. SRB Ch. YUG Ch. Blue Elk Primo Because Of Love (imp USA) (Gr. Ch. Ch. Away To Me Titan Tough x Ashland's Pure Radiance)) came to us in July 2025. Originally born in the USA, Primo went to Europe and was campaigned to championships in many countries there gaining Best in Groups and Best in Shows. He now has his Australian Championship as well. Primo is currently Australia's most titled Miniature American Shepherd and is currently being campaigned to his Australian Grand Champion title. He, like Arwen, is clear for all heritable diseases, with hips and elbows scored (OFA) and eye clearances done (in Europe). We're happy to provide proof of ALL test results from both parents (no need to put a deposit on a puppy to get these). We do have puppies. 8 pretty boys were born on March 16 and we're now taking expressions of interest.
