Sonny is a black, white and tan tri colour cocker spaniel. In late 2021 he started Introduction to Nosework and in June 2022 competed in his first ANKC scentwork trial. At his second trial he won novice class, finding the birch hide in a cracking 7.19 seconds. We are very excited about Sonny's future in this dog sport. It only took 2 months for Sonny to complete 6 out of 6 ANKC Scentwork qualifications to achieve his Novice title. He has excelled at this sport with 3 x 1st place (fastest time); 1 x 3rd place and 1 x 4th place. Sonny has now qualified for his Dogs Australia Scentwork Advance title and passed the ACSW Odour recognition Trial (ORT) as well as Level 1+ Vehicles and NW1. 2024 update Sonny has achieved the Dogs Australia Scentwork Excellent title and is now competing at a Masters level in all elements (vehicles, interior, exterior and containers). In the ACSW competition he has achieved the Nosework 2 title and further Level 1 elements. Sept 2024 - It's been 2 years since we started Scentwork and Sonny now has a Scentwork Vehicles Title. 2025 - The year has started well with an additional title Scentwork Exterior and Scentwork Containers achieved in March. At the 2025 Qld Scentwork State Titles Sonny achieved his Masters title and the final qualification for the Scentwork Interior title. A Scentwork Masters title is an incredible achievement. It means the following have been achieved: Novice - 8 qualifications Advance - 12 qualifications Excellent - 12 qualifications Masters - 12 qualifications Interior - 11 qualifications Exterior - 11 qualifications Containers - 11 qualifications Vehicles - 11 qualifications We now participate in Ultimate class.
