Rocket is a stunning specimen of the breed and has been assessed by European breed specialists as outstanding. He comes from the first ever litter to contain the roan coloured version of this breed also known as grey speckled. The wirehaired slovakian pointer must have the base color of grey. Most come in solid grey which can include white markings anywhere on their body and is often seen on chest, feet, stomach and muzzle and can be a small spot up to a large blaze. The grey speckled or belos (roan) occurs in around 1/4 of the breed and it is preferred that the specks occur throughout the white rather than having large solid white patches. Like the longhaired weimaraner the longer the wiry coat the more the colour can appear a brown or sable colour as opposed to the steely grey of the shorthaired version. Where the coat is shorter such on the ears the grey of the weimaraner is more apparent. Rockets brother Jaspar is the first wirehaired slovakian pointer to be campaigned in NZ.
