The very first bred-by keeper, Astrid, is making Odindisa proud! She is unaffected by SVR and does not carry genes for curly, dilute or long coat. Astrid earned Best Baby Puppy in Group at 15 weeks old, awarded by judge Ida Homer on 2 February 2025. At the Metropolitan Kennel Club (WA) Championship Show on 26-Apr-2025 (Saturday), Mrs Carole Doherty (NSW) awarded Astrid Best Minor in Group. Astrid went on to gain Best Minor in Show, awarded by Mr Peter Martin (SA). Thank you to these two judges who are very familiar with the breed and recognised Astrid as an excellent example. Astrid achieved her SprintDog™ Novice title at 15 months of age, clocking speeds of 29km/hr. She is the first Vallhund in Australia to earn the title of SprintDog™ Novice. She has begun training on sheep in readiness for her Herding instinct test and also shows great aptitude for Scent Work. Astrid has passed the Skills Level 1 course run by the Southern River Agility and Obedience Dog Club.
