Judge Profile

As a second generation conformation exhibitor I was basically raised in the whelping box. My parents have been breeding Clumber and English Springer Spaniels from the mid-nineties. We also added a GSP to our showing team along the way. Starting in on the Central Coast in NSW, my family and I moved our team to NZ in early naughties where we continued to breed and show. Upon meeting my husband I returned to Australia to Melbourne in 2011 where I brought my own show team and continued breeding and showing until my parents joined me in the mid teens.

As a youngster I had the best opportunity to spend time with so many dogs handling all breeds in the gundog group along with Dachshunds and a few terriers. If anyone handed me a lead I was sure to have fun and bring out my love for the dog I got the opportunity to handle. The experience an opportunity given to me have enabled me to have so much love and understanding for all breeds.

While in NZ I encouraged Dogs NZ to initiate a junior handler manual/rule book to enable more clarity in what is required in handler judging.

I started my conformation judges training in the mid-teens. I have enjoyed every bit of the learning with each breed having its specific function. As a scientists (Chemistry Teacher) I enjoy learning the why? It make the what so much easier to understand.

The why has also ignited my love for the performance sports. Seeing how a dog is able to track a person over a kilometre with different challenges along the way is so rewarding.

When I don’t have dog shows or performance sports you’ll find me learning more or spending time with my two children.
