Judge Profile

My passion for Bull Terriers was kindled in 1973 when we bought our first Bull Terrier – a daughter of Eng. Ch. Brobar Headliner (Imp UK). Since then, we have always had a few Bull Terriers around the home. I have owned, bred and shown Bull Terriers for over 50 years.
Over the years, as work and family commitments dictated, I have been showing at Bull Terrier Specialist and All Breeds Shows with In-Show success at both. We have bred numerous Australian Champions and Bull Terrier Recognition of Merit (ROM) winners. Whilst we are a small kennel and have bred sparingly (particularly whilst our children were growing up), we nonetheless have remained dedicated to and passionate about the breed.
I was Secretary of the National Bull Terrier Council (Australia) from 1994 to 2003 and 2006 to 2017, President from 2019 to 2023 and ! am the current Secretary. I have also been Secretary of the Australian Capital Territory Bull Terrier Club since 1990.
Over the years, I have attended USA Silverwood weekends, the Montgomery County cluster shows, Westminster Show in New York and then in the UK: the BTC (UK) Trophy Show, Crufts and Bull Terrier Championship Shows.
Assignments include The International Show for The Bull Terrier Club UK, Montgomery County Kennel Club (USA) (Central New jersey Bull Terrier Club), Santa Barbara Kennel Club (USA) (Barbary Coast Bull Terrier Club), Futurity Sweepstakes for the Bull Terrier Club of America, the ‘Egg Head Competition’ for the Miniature Bull Terrier Club of America, both Bull Terrier Clubs in New Zealand, and Championship and Open Bull Terrier and Bull Terrier (Miniature) Shows in Australia.
