Judge Profile

I began my involvement in pedigree dogs over 30 years ago with the American Staffordshire Terrier, a breed I continue to proudly exhibit and breed under the kennel prefix Zaliamstaff. My love of dogs began much earlier, growing up with our family Boxer, which first fostered my appreciation for strong, athletic, and characterful breeds. Over the years, my passion for Terriers and the Bull breeds has led me to own and exhibit the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and to show the Bull Terrier, as well as the Bullmastiff, Boston Terrier, and French Bulldog.

I have bred and titled over 30 champions across New Zealand, Australia, and the USA, and am proud to have owned New Zealand’s first BIS and RBIS winners within the breed. Dogs bred by my kennel have achieved multiple BISS and RBISS awards, and our success extends beyond conformation with performance titles earned internationally.

I am actively involved in the dog community, serving on the committees of the United Bull Breeds Association, the American Staffordshire Terrier Club of NZ, Southern Ladies KA and the Otago Judges Branch, and am a past President and Vice President of the Southern Ladies Kennel Association.

As a licensed DogsNZ, AKC and FCI judge, I have had the honour of judging in NZ, Australia, and the USA.

In addition to judging, I have presented breed lectures for Judges education on the Amstaff and attended health and breed seminars internationally, reflecting my ongoing commitment to the breed and the Terrier Group as a whole.

I approach judging with a focus on breed type, soundness, and function, grounded in respect for each breed’s purpose and history. My commitment to the Terrier Group is both personal and professional, and I am proud to contribute to the future of these spirited and versatile breeds.
