SIMIAS.......from simia the Latin for monkey. SIMIAS kennel was established in 1997 using dogs specially selected for genetic diversity from the HART D kennel in Anchorage, Alaska. Originally located in northern California, we moved with our dogs to NZ in 2003, . In October 2012, two superb young dogs from North Carolina joined the team from the world renowned TAMARIN kennel. Simias has bred multiple show Champions and many,many adored family pets. Supreme Ch. Simias Satchell Paige, blazed a trail through Tasmania, expertly guided by owner Leone Cashman. In Victoria, Affen ambassador extrodinaire, Grand Ch. Simias Blackberry Trifle Betty won fans wherever she was shown by owner Sally Stewart. And it's not just about looks, Chris Barron Qld. has made Simias Wavy Gravy, RE CDX, Australasia's highest awarded Affenpinscher (ever!) in the sport of Obedience. Warmest congratulations to all. SIMIAS came home to NZ in 2019 and some lovely babies have since been imported and bred. Covid paused several show careers, but dedicated Affen-ados are out there with more promising young dogs. !
