True to the breed, our Berners are social, loyal, affectionate, confident, fun loving and above all healthy dogs who bring nothing but joy to our lives. We have no doubt our pups will bring the same joy and happiness into the lives of their new families too. Our home is made up of two Bernese, Fallon and Saxon, a Chocolate Labrador, Freya, a cat, Jynx, lots of chickens and two little (human) boys. Doing well in the show ring signifies that our dogs meet or exceed the breed standard which I feel is very important as a breeder. Welcome to Abeleere Bernese. We fell in love with this breed in 2006 when Oscar - Abbiberne Mountain Nero - joined our family. Since then we have been hooked. A small kennel located on the Mornington Peninsula, our dogs are raised as part of our family. They sleep on the bed, on the couch and basically anywhere they want when they are not out roaming our beautiful 2.5 acres - purchased solely for their enjoyment. Bernese, unfortunately do not have a long lifespan so researching our genetic lines was extremely important to us when choosing our foundation dogs. Longevity, conformation and temperament are key in our decision making process. I am a fully qualified vet nurse and our Bernese are often the stars of our social media platform and adored by our clinic staff and clients. All dogs are tested for hip and elbow dysplasia, Von Willebrands Disease and Degenerative Myelopathy for both genes (SOD1A & SOD1B).
