All our dogs are hip and elbow scored for soundness and DNA tested. We provide ongoing support for all our puppies and owners . Our dogs are well performed in the show ring breeding many champions over the years , BOB , Runner up BOB at specialty’s and Royals , therapy dogs, obedience dogs and much loved family members. We screen our breeding stock for Hip & Elbow Displaysia (AVA xray scoring after 12mths of age), Von Willebrands Disease (VwD), & Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) for both genes (SOD1A & SOD1B). We can talk you through the pedigrees of our dogs incl. lifespans & any known health issues. Bernese world-wide have a lifespan of just shy of 8 yrs, so please do your research into the breed before purchasing as they will not suit everyone. Please beware of scammers & non-reputable breeders!! Facebook posts saying "available now" are not legit! I am an ANKC breeder registered with DOGS Victoria and sell all pups on Limited papers between 8-12 weeks of age. As a small breeder wait times for puppies may vary (I do not keep a wait list). I ask that you please only call me on Saturdays, or between 4pm-7pm weekdays. If I do not answer, PLEASE leave a voicemail. Please note that I do not sell pups interstate. Email enquiries should include your name/s, location, lifestyle, & what you are looking for in a companion. Welcome to Vennberne Kennels where our commitment to Bernese Mountain Dogs is unwavering. With over 20 years experience I Julie have dedicated many years to improving this beautiful breed. We prioritize both form and function meaning our dogs can do what they were bred for. Our puppies undergo health testing before leaving for their new homes and all breeding dogs are hip and elbow scored and health tested. Temperaments are very important to us, our Bernese are not only show ring champions but also beloved family members. Our puppies are raised in a family environment full of enrichment and love and exposed to as many different situations as possible in readiness for their new homes. We actively participate in confirmation shows where our dogs are evaluated against the breed standard. By showing our dogs we contribute to preserving the breeds integrity and making sure we are breeding to the standard. Judges assess each dogs structure, movement and overall appearance reinforcing the importance of adhering to the standard as much as possible. Doing well in the show ring signifies that our dogs meet or exceed the breed standard which I feel is very important as a breeder. Conformation shows educate breeders, exhibitors and the public about the ideal Bernese Mountain Dog and a way to continue breeding in a responsible way. Welcome to Abeleere Bernese. We fell in love with this breed in 2006 when Oscar - Abbiberne Mountain Nero - joined our family. Since then we have been hooked. A small kennel located on the Mornington Peninsula, our dogs are raised as part of our family. They sleep on the bed, on the couch and basically anywhere they want when they are not out roaming our beautiful 2.5 acres - purchased solely for their enjoyment. Bernese, unfortunately do not have a long lifespan so researching our genetic lines was extremely important to us when choosing our foundation dogs. Longevity, conformation and temperament are key in our decision making process. I am a fully qualified vet nurse and our Bernese are often the stars of our social media platform and adored by our clinic staff and clients. All dogs are tested for hip and elbow dysplasia, Von Willebrands Disease and Degenerative Myelopathy for both genes (SOD1A & SOD1B). Like all breeders, I only want the best homes for my dogs so be prepared to be asked lots of questions. We are not currently accepting new applications.
