(See his profile for pedigree and pictures) After showing and breeding Staffordshire Bull Terriers for over 40 years we were looking for a smaller breed with the same steady nature (although nothing will ever take the place of all the Staffords!) and the Border Terrier fits the bill perfectly. We are very proud to have been entrusted with such amazing dogs as our foundation. Our first Border was Rebus - Sup Ch Bohunt Hue And Cry SE. Tragically killed by a snake February 2019. Our incredible introduction to this beautiful breed. Ch Blackshot A Bit Of Reckon from our first Border litter won Best In Show at the Sporting Terrier Club of Queensland February 2020 Championship show - at 9.5 months of age. Ch Blackshot Act of Dog from our second Border litter won Runner Up to Best in Show at this same show 2 years later.

Over 26 years ago, I discovered the wonderful Border Terrier (BT). I quickly realised this wee dog was full of personality, a joy to share life with, and well suited to my favourite sport - dog agility. My first BT, Tamalee, lived to 17½ years, she passed on 21 January 2021. While she didn’t love agility quite as much as I had hoped, my BT's that followed certainly do. My second BT was Kenzy, an exceptional girl. We were a wonderful agility team, and losing her tragically in 2016 is a loss I still struggle with every day. Kenzy is the reason I decided to breed - she had so many outstanding qualities, most importantly being her ability to produce sound, healthy, happy puppies and to love me unconditionally. Kenzy’s daughter, Piper, has continued that legacy, producing the same type of puppies. The BT is a true all-rounder: a devoted family member, a capable working dog, and a quick learner. They are busy, cheeky at times (they are Terriers!), but do love cuddles and happy to be lap dogs. Piper retired around 2022, Tweed Star, Isla, and WonderFul all currently compete with me in agility. In January 2025, we welcomed Patterdale Lady Edith AK, known as “Magic,” now we have 5. My hope is that Magic will be my next agility dog. I was heavily involved in hunting with the hounds in the UK and back here in Australia... and to start with my dogs were very much working terriers. We have bred Pointers for 40 years, and Border Terriers for 20+ years, living in rural Canterbury N.Z. Pointers hold a special place in our hearts, but Lyn always wanted a 'country terrier' and eventually settled on the Border Terrier. Two main things attracted her to Borders, their easy-going temperament and ability to peacefully co-exist with other dogs. Border Terriers are now our main breed. We are lucky to have had the help of several people over the years with our breeding. First of all the late Robert Bartram, ("Craigend", NSW Aust) who sold us our first Border in the year 2000. He had a lifetime's experience in Borders, knew all the important breeders in the UK, and always was willing to help us. Joy Wangler ("Kalan" Ballarat, Aust). Joy was kind enough to let us use her highly successful import Aust Grand CH & Fin & NZ CH Foxforest One for the Road (Jesse). This enabled us to breed our Ziggi (Ch.Barton Theta) who was both a successful sire and a winner in the showring. Using our Jesse frozen semen we recently bred our Carlos (Ch.Barton Blues and Twos). We cannot thank Joy enough for her extremely generous help and support over the years. Pip Graham ("Bramble" N.Z.), Stu Mintrom, & Gail O'Keefe for breeding our CH Bramble Country Road. "Sage" is the matriarch of our Borders, a daughter of the lovely "Jorja" and all our current Borders descend from her.
