Although most breeds today are not required to work as such, we believe retaining this working ability is essential to produce Collies suitable as show dogs, for obedience or just simply good companions - healthy in body and spirit. The Collie has an aesthetic value shared by few other breeds. They are always willing to please with wonderful temperaments and a great desire to be with you. They are wonderful dogs for almost anyone. Vedamea Collies has a small, responsible breeding program reflecting our commitment to relevant testing. We have imported numerous quality Collies over the years to infuse into our breeding program, ensuring not only improvement of breed type, but also the introduction of new bloodlines ensures continued good health to our lovely breed.

My goal is to showcase the Smooth Collie's suitability as family companions and biddable working dogs. In more recent history with the intervention of modern day family life, Collie breeding has strayed away from their working dog heritage. Whilst the breeds intelligence and athleticism is undeniable, that latent herding instinct can be tricky to uncover and shape into useful and appropriate herding skills. Remember - chasing and circling is not herding. For me, a dog is suitable for breeding when it demonstrates that it is sound in conformation, temperament and working aptitude. My dogs are involved in Herding and Conformation showing, as well as occasionally participating in Tracking, Rally Obedience, Obedience and Scent Work.

First established in the UK in the early 1970's we pride ourselves in producing sound healthy puppies who excel in all disciplines from the show ring to tracking, agility and assistance dogs, but primarily as well adjusted and loved family members. Our English import Rudi (Blamorder Be Your Valentino IMP UK) is now very well settled with us and has sired several litters producing some lovely youngsters, very sound with outstanding temperaments proving themselves in the show ring and as assistance dogs. His first grandchildren were born in early 2023 and can now be seen in both showrings and sporting arenas. We hope to have another litter of his grandchildren early next year. All our puppies are eye screened, regularly wormed, vaccinated and have had hours of love and attention as well as a full DNA profile for the breeding stock. We are happy to do specific early training for those who wish to do dog sports. Please do contact me about anything Smooth Collie always happy to help as they are my passion.

We concentrate on temperament, health and soundness in our breeding program. All our dogs are health tested, DNA tested, hip and elbow scored and eye tested.

Herditall is a small kennel in the Tasmanian countryside that breeds only occasionally, in partner with Baqilodge Collies (TAS) and Vedamea Collies (NSW). Our dogs are part of the family, taking part in farm life and recreational activities- including forays into town in the motorcycle sidecar. Sound conformation and temperament are paramount to the Herditall lifestyle and we only breed when something really special is in the works. Herditall Collies perform in the show ring, the agility arena, herding trials and equally well in couch snoozing and leisurely strolls through the paddocks. Parents and progeny at Herditall routinely undergo genetic monitoring and specialist eye and hip examinations. Herditall pups are reared with dedication, as part of the family.

While we at Sunshard do breed the occasional litter focusing on health, temperament, and type our main focus is trialling in the performance ring. For this reason we rarely have puppies. When we do have puppies they are bred and raised with performance sports in mind. They are socialised and receive enrichment from birth and we offer support and assistance to our puppy people whenever it is required and we always love to hear how they are going. Our dogs are housed and raised in the home enviroment. All our dogs are hip and elbow scored and DNA tested for CEA, MRD1 and DM.
