Schlau Miniature Long Haired Dachshunds is a small select kennel that has specialised in the breeding and showing of this variety for 45 years with in excess of fifty Australian and International Champions. We are constantly striving to improve the breed as a whole with carefully planned breeding programs and a natural diet, which enhances the health and wellbeing of the puppies that we breed. We usually only breed to enhance our show team but sometimes have puppies and mature dogs available to loving homes. All puppies are provided with a puppy pack, limited registration papers, will have been on a regular worming program from 2 weeks of age, vaccinated and micro-chipped before going to their new homes. In working to improve the breed all stock has been PRA tested. We have been amongst the show community for 9yrs. We have shown dogs and campaigned others along with other breed during this time. My dogs have had a full breed profile tested through ORIVET and are all PRA clear, SDMD Clear. They also receive screenings in Back scoring, Patella and Thyroid testing. All prospective dams and sires are screened by myself along side a couple of long time breeders who are my mentors to choose the best possible breeding match to help breed healthy and to the breeding standard. Our babies are raised in a home environment with other dogs, children and are raised indoors in the living room with the family. We are currently have a litter of 4 beautiful long hair puppies . Basito Miniature Dachshunds are a small, family run kennel in Sydney. Our main focus is to strive to improve on health and temperament with our focus being on diet,socialisation and wellbeing. First and foremost we are passionate about this particular breed, we love to promote the miniature dachshund as a loving, loyal companion for a variety of people and their unique family structure. My introduction of long hair miniature dachshunds into my family came about a few years ago when I purchased my first long haired red girl, Poppy. Poppy’s temperament is a genuine, loving, sweet nature, she is very adaptable to her surroundings, happily embracing being out on social walks as well as being just as content to spend the afternoon on our laps just taking in the days with us. I find the temperament of the long haired dachshunds to be well suited to an older owner as well as a first time dachshund owner. Poppy has blessed us with 5 beautiful red puppies for her first litter, they are all happy, healthy and thriving at 5 weeks old ( 29Febuary 2024). There are 2 beautiful boys within the litter that are searching for a forever family. Please feel free to contact me by phone if you feel you are ready to welcome a new family member into your home.
