We are small and select breeders on the outskirts of Melbourne dedicated to this treasure from the snow. Home to our famous super-stars Emmi and Louis! We have been involved in the Finnish Lapphund breed for around 20 years, and both our own dogs as well as those we have bred are active in the show ring and a variety of performance sports such as herding, obedience, rally, agility, tracking and flyball. Lumottu is the Finnish word for Enchanted and that is what sums up a Finnish Lapphund for me, Enchanting. I fell in love with the breed in 2009 and have since added two into my household. Along with my dogs I enjoy my weekends attending conformation shows as well as obedience classes. Lappies fit into a household with ease. Happy to be out and about or sleeping on the couch. Finnish Lapphunds first caught our eye in 2011. They are a beautiful intelligent breed that will win over your heart! We offer our dogs a diverse and varied lifestyle as a true member of our family. They experience life be it camping, bushwalking, 4WDriving and coming to work with us which leads to being great companions and contributes greatly to their well being. We also participate in obedience and confirmation showing. Our philosophy is to breed with the healthiest stock we can. We spend a lot of time researching pedigrees and health of dogs, importing semen which keeps our lines strong and healthy and the gene pool diverse. We breed lappies fit for the purpose intended. We do not breed often, we breed with prcd-PRA clear dogs and we are about quality and not quantity. We carry out extensive health testing prior to breeding. Our puppies and dogs are raised and live in our home. We place our puppies where they will be loved in show, sports or companion homes. We are also looking for like minded people who are willing to be part of our journey and offer preservation homes(to contribute to the future of the breed). We offer lifetime support. It wasn’t until 2009, after countless hours of research for a suitable working breed, and as if by chance, that I stumbled on a picture of a Finnish Lapphund. I began asking around and sent enquires and finally in 2011 I was blessed with my first Lappie Heidi. I’ve never looked back and since then, have added two more to my clan Lappies have had such an amazing impact on my life and I hope to bring this same joy and love to many others in the future. We don’t breed often and aim to keep our numbers at home small so each dog can have the love and attention they deserve. We are always looking for loving homes to help us showcase this amazing breed by offering a welcoming family and for some, by allowing their dog to contribute to the future of Ehana. Our dogs successfully compete in Conformation Showing as well as a variety of performance sports. We welcome any enquires from potential families who would like to dip their toe in either of these worlds and are happy to mentor and support anyone wanting to give them a go. Having involved in showing Finnish Lapphunds since 2015, Hueze kennels is excited for the arrival of our foundation bitch from Finland for our breeding program to fulfil our growing passion for the breed. We enjoy Conformation Showing and Agility - however our dogs are first and foremost a big part of the family. As we are a boutique kennel, we will only have one or two litters of puppies each year.
