Health of our puppies are very important and so all parents are hip scored and are genetically clear of PRA and CLAD. Our love affair with Irish Setters started in the late '70s when we first began showing and breeding these glorious dogs. Arguably the most beautiful of breeds, our Irish have always been known for their good looks and racy personalities and are bred for soundness, conformation, and looks, but most of all for temperament. Our Rosy (Ch Eirean It Had To Be You AI typifies the best of the breed - she's loving, with a wonderful temperament. Full of spirit and grace, her free and open gait makes her a pleasure to watch. Awarding her at the most recent specialist Setter Club show, Judge Mr Kim Meyer had this to say about Rosy. "Lovely feminine bitch. Gorgeous head and expression. Holds her topline on the move. Correct dentition. Compact and strong in loin, good rear angulation. Everything about her just flows." Last year we mated Rosy with Supreme Champion Fantango Red Bull (Wings), a multi best in show and best in group winner. Their puppy, Aust. Grand Champion Carlowa Scarlett Rose AI, is already showing the grace and style of her sire and dam; Scarlett has won numerous In Group and In Show awards, and achieved her Australian title while still a minor puppy, under specialist judge Ester Joseph. Scarlett recently achieved her Grand Champion title, at just two and a half years of age. Another Rosy litter delivered in April 2025, from a mating with NZ Supreme Gr.Champion Lanascol Was This the Answer is already promising more beautiful Carlowa pups.
