We have almost 50 years experience as Breeders, Owners and Exhibitors of purebred dogs and always aim to breed true to the ANKC breed standard for type, temperament correct height and sound conformation to succeed at high level in the show ring. All stud dogs are DNA tested for health issues. Tunamara dogs shine in the show rings in all States of Australia and overseas. We breed to maintain the quality in our dogs and sometimes have puppies available to loving pet or show homes. We keep a good gene pool to prevent inbreeding and add to it when needed. We are not afraid to import new bloodlines. All babies are fully vet checked, wormed regularly, microchipped (transferred) and vaccinated before rehoming. Puppies going to pet situations are desexed and provided with neuter registration papers (transferred to new owners) from DogsSA and free insurance is provided. Full papers for entires are available to approved ANKC registered breeder / show homes only. Every Tunamara puppy is bred and reared at home by us as we do not use outside agents to breed on our behalf. Check our webpage for all updates. Promotion for the breed in SA and encouragement for new Iggy fanciers and juniors has always been high on our agenda. We are very proud to be the breed sponsors for the Royal Adelaide Show since 1998. We are extremely proud to have been awarded the Dogzonline Best Australian IG Breeder award for the years 2013, 2014 & 2015, these awards based on the performance of our beloved dogs.

Hi, My name is Liz Monahan and I have loved and trained dogs since I was just a child. I have worked as both a voluntary and professional trainer with dogs in performance sports and behavioural training. In 2006 our first Italian Greyhound 'Buffy' Ch Canmio Da Chosen One joined us as my son's first companion and show dog and became the foundation for Tahrae Kennels. Our dogs are an important part of our family and our puppies are whelped and raised in our home, we strive to produce puppies that will suit both performance and pet homes. Our dogs are health tested prior to breeding as we strive to produce the Finest Quality puppies. I started showing Italian Greyhounds in 2004 and have been successfully showing and breeding them since. I maintain a small kennel, and only breed once or twice per year to refresh my show team. Puppies are sometimes available, bred for type, soundness and good temperament.

I do not breed for quantity, only for quality and have a great love for the breed. I have been mentored for the past 10 years by Annette Johns of Rhodeholme Italian Greyhounds and am very grateful for her help and her wonderful boys, one of whom was bred by me. Any puppies I produce are vet checked, vaccinated, wormed and micro chipped. Raised around adult Iggies and cats in home, they are well socialized and I do not part with them until at least 10 weeks of age. 12 weeks if transporting interstate or overseas.
