We are not expecting or planning any litters in the near future. We are a small registered breeder of Standard Poodles and live just outside Exeter in Northern Tasmania. Our focus is primarily on health, temperament and genetic diversity and while you may occasionally find us at a dog show we are more likely to be at home with our dogs and other animals. Our dogs live in our house and are beloved members of our family. We breed predominantly black, blue, apricot and cream but are hoping to add silver to the mix as well. Our dogs are all DNA tested (through Embark) and all pups will come with their own complete Embark DNA report. We also do genetic diversity testing through Betterbred and UCDavis on all our dogs that we may potentially use for breeding. We will only have one or two litters a year. Our pups are raised in our home and are socialised with our family and friends, with our other dogs, with our cat and to lots of different noises and experiences. They will be groomed regularly to become familiar with the grooming regime before they leave for their new homes.

We are a small family breeder committed to responsible breeding of healthy happy standard poodles with sound temperament, and we are very lucky to have poodles with diverse international champion lines, and lovely temperaments sharing our lives. Our poodles spend their time with family in both Melbourne and country Victoria, and are equally at home in the local cafe, Bunnings, noisy scout group activity, or paddocks and the lake. We offer lifetime support and assistance as needed, and with experience in the Rescue sector, we prefer to help re-home our dogs if circumstances require this, than have them in a strange situation. Our breeding dogs are all DNA tested, hip scored, tested for Sebaceous Adenitis, and have specialist Reproductive and Ophthalmologist Vet checkup before breeding. Our girls are great mums, they whelp in the home, and we prefer to keep their puppies with them until at least 10 weeks of age - they meet lots of children and assorted adults from the time weaning commences though, and are exposed to lots of varied socialisation experiences. By the time they go to their new homes our pups are sleeping all night in their own crate / den and are initially toilet trained to a grass strip doggy loo, then reliably house trained from this We are a Registered Breeder with Dogs Victoria, hold a Victorian Breeder Source number, and are members of the Poodle Club of Victoria. I have been showing Standard Poodles for six years in Western Australia and have had my prefix for 4 years. I also own and show Boxers. The litter due in October is the second under my prefix, the first litter now being 3 years old. Eight puppies are confirmed and I expect them to be either black or white, there is an outside chance of silver. The sire of the puppies is Marechal I Candy at Artizan. The puppies have now been born, there are 5 boys (3 x white and 2 x black) and 3 girls ( 2 x white and 1 x black). All pups are doing well as is mum.

I am a passionate owner/breeder, having only the very occasional litter with a lot of research and planning going into every pairing. All precautions are taken to minimise risk of any potential health issues with my dogs undertaking available testing such as DNA profiles and hip/elbow scores. I show in the conformation ring and participate in obedience classes where possible. We are hoping to try our hand at lure coursing and other dog sports too! I groom pets as a hobby so our dogs are exposed to lots of other people, children and different breeds of dogs. Raised on 20 acres of hobby farm our puppies are used to geese, sheep, tractors, machinery and general "farm life". Showing excellent temperaments, being athletic and well socialised, our puppies are raised using ENS, Puppy development programs and are a part of our family. They are fed a high quality, age appropriate diet. Previous litters are showing great trainability with pups quickly moving through the ranks at obedience and excelling in the show ring. Fabulous comments from judges on quality and structure of the young dogs I have in the conformation ring. With several years of trialling and exhibiting experience, I am focusing on breeding balanced Standard Poodles who are sound, confident and fun to live with. I frequently campaign dogs in the ring and all Valravn Standard Poodles are titled prior to breeding. Valravn breeding dogs are health tested and cleared of all genetic health conditions that can be detected via DNA testing and have acceptable hip and elbows scores. These results are available on request. Puppies are lovingly raised in the home with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Puppy Culture Programs as well as basic training and grooming desensitisation. Being bred to their history allows them to be wonderful working dogs while fitting perfectly into thw modern family home as loving family members. I only bred and raised my first litter in 2022. But to despite this I have been around dogs, breeding and showing my whole life. I got my first standard poodle when I was 16, that is a long time ago! I am very fortunate that I have had some of the best mentors in the bred during my life and are very grateful to have these people as mentors and friends. Alot of these people over the years have entrusted me with their dogs and dogs of their breeding programs, which has allowed me to be where I am now with my dogs and breeding. My dogs first and foremost are members of my family and are dogs first and show dogs second. They love spending time within my home, in the backyard, paddock or individual runs when required. We get great enjoyment from attending dog shows and getting out and about in the public with our dogs to promote the bred. Health and fit for purpose are my focus with my dogs, and I strongly believe if you get these correct to the best of your ability you achieve what everyone is looking for a good family member, a good show or dog sports dog, a good support dog. My love is of Blue/Silver Poodles, and I dream to one day have one that is a great show dog and will continue to strive to this, but also are aware Color cannot be the only focus it is just a bonus if you achieve what you desire.
