Rynkls Shar Pei and Chow is a small but successful kennel located in the small vilage of Bungendore -just outside of Canberra. We are activley involved in the pursuit of excellence through tough but fair competition. We wont bore you with meaningless detail except to say we CURRENTLY enjoy successes in the show ring as well as proving the versatility of our dogs in other disciplines. We DO NOT hang off the coat tails of out-dated results. Rynkls Shar Pei are committed to maintaining the excellent type and temperament of the Shar Pei that has been developed through thoughtful breeding throughout many generations. We are also active members of the dog community serving on a number of committee’s and holding membership to a number of related clubs. We also contribute to the development and welfare of the Shar Pei (and dogs in general) through public education, rescue work and breed specific training. We are a small breeder located within Melbourne's south east in Victoria, we aim to produce quality litters (not quantity) that conform to breed standard. but we emphasise on health and temperaments, all of our dogs have loving soft natures. We regularly show our dogs and are home to the 2012 Puppy of Breed (ROLLSAPLENTY SHOWSTOPPER AKA FUDGE) at the prestigious Royal Melbourne show and 2013 Puppy of Breed at Royal Melbourne Show (WAYATINAH KOMANDER AKA BUDDHA). We do not put any of our animals in cages or runs, they all run free together inside our home and back yard. We are very selective where our puppies are homed if they are not going to be part of your family they will remain part of ours. We open our home so you can meet all of our dogs and any puppies and are here for any questions about our dogs or the breed in general, all enquiries are welcome. We are a passionate & proud Shar Pei loving family, formally located in South Gippsland Victoria, relocated to Central Queensland as of November 2023 We have a responsibility for the future well-being of the breed and are committed to producing true quality Shar Pei, by pursuing long term health and temperament, correct type and colour. We are committed to health testing for SPAID “ Shar-Pei Autoinflammatory Disorder; POAG/PLL - Primary Open Angle Glaucoma/Primary Lens Luxation; Thyroid; Hip, Elbow and Patella. SPAID testing is a linkage test. It is a useful health tool, not a guarantee certificate for life, as emergence depends on multiple environmental factors, like stress and poor diet. Our Shar Pei are brought up in a loving family environment. They are our pets and companions first, show dogs second. Any future puppies will be bred with the aim of improving the breed for special show homes, loving families and future generations. As breed advocates we encourage new owners to join us at the dog shows and assist in showcasing the breed variety. We believe Shar Pei are the perfect family dog as they are very loving and affectionate towards children, and quickly create a loving bond with their owners. They are a unique, intelligent, unmistakable breed, loyal and devoted to their human companions. Dachshar Kennels, located in the heart of Tasmania, was founded in 2023 following the marriage of Walter Baxter, formerly of Axasash Kennels and Michelle Booth, formerly of Adstaff Kennels. Walter has been involved with the Shar Pei breed since 2000, achieving significant success under the Axasash prefix. His dedication to this unique breed is evident in his focus on breeding healthy Shar Pei with outstanding temperaments and strong conformation. These qualities are vital for ensuring that our Shar Pei remain sound and vibrant throughout their lives. As a boutique kennel, we prioritise quality over quantity in our breeding programme, producing a maximum of two litters per year across our kennel. We typically breed a maximum of three litters per bitch over their lifetime, though more often it is only two. Michelle, who has been a member of Dogs Tasmania since 2010, has owned Dalmatians since 2002 and Miniature Longhaired Dachshunds since 2016 shares a commitment to producing healthy dogs with excellent dispositions. Together, she and Walter ensure that all their dogs are well socialised and great with children as they often have their grandchildren over. To uphold the highest standards, all dogs undergo comprehensive DNA health testing for all genetic conditions associated with their breeds before being bred. Together, we are committed to the wellbeing of our dogs and to maintaining the integrity of the Shar Pei breed.

Here at Staxapei kennels we breed for quality NOT quantity for health and temperament in all of our Shar pei's. Our aim is for great skin and eyes in our dogs. Litters are available occasionally with pups of all colours, brushcoat and horsecoat, and ONLY available to loving homes where they will be loved as much as we love them. Our pups are raised in a family environment with adults and other dogs, so when our puppies leave us here at Staxapei kennels they have friendly loving natures. We are a small kennel in the suburbs of Canberra who actively show our Shar Pei. Health testing and temperaments are of the utmost importance to us as well as preserving the breed. All our dogs are family members first and spend much of their time on the couch or romping in the yard with the kids.
