We are thrilled to introduce this beautiful, very rare Japanese breed to Australia. We have imported 3 Shikoku to date, and looking into a forth in the near future. . Our breeding age Shikoku have been health tested for General good health, HD, ED plus DNA breed health profile prior to making any breeding plans. This is to ensure the breed within Australia is as heathy as can be before breeding. We are thrilled to announce that we are expecting our second SHIKOKU litter on 23rd April 2026 with our home bred girl, Shinju and the stunning Hungarian import Kaze. Kantarosou Shikoku Inu, based near Brisbane, is excited to open waitlist applications for their first litter (possibly Australia's second ever litter). A pairing is planned between: Sire: CH Kaze-Komachi vd Egmato (IMP HUN) 'Kazé' Dam: CH Hikaru Go Awa Yamainusou (IMP JP) 'Haruko' A litter is hoped for by August 2026, pending Haruko's seasons and waitlist filling (we want to ensure a recipient is lined up for each potential puppy). All health testing will be completed for both dogs well before a litter is planned to go ahead. Waitlist applications are being taken early to ensure applicants are well prepared and familiar with the breed. Applications should only be made after thorough research into the breed (health, nature, unique needs, etc) has been conducted. We welcome requests to meet our Shikoku to help people decide if the breed is right for them.
