Prior to purchasing our first Siberian Husky we spent 2 years researching the traits, characteristics & specific needs of this breed. From the moment we welcomed our 1st Siberian into our life we were completely in love with what this breed brought into our lives. We have been actively involved with conformation shows from 2012, a hobby that we love & have had great success with. Our goal with our breeding programme is to breed beautiful healthy & sound Siberians as per the breed standard. Temperaments being extremely important to us as well as form & function. With our experience & knowledge & continued learning we are excited about this very privelaged journey of breeding Siberian Huskies & becoming guardians of this breed we love so much. Whilst we love & are actively involved in conformation shows, we also enjoy obedience, different types of dog sports & dry land racing in winter although a spinal injury has limited us from doing this as much as we would like. Through stringent training & passing assessment criteria’s we have accredited 5 girls & 1 male which allow them to be certified therapy dogs. A job they love & enjoy & something we are immensely proud of as owners. Please research this wonderful breed before taking one into your family. They are not a breed for everyones lifestyle.

Riversrun prefix was born in 2016 after we ended the Desaran prefix which was started back in 2005 with South African bloodlines. We have since introduced the Russian lines forming the quality dogs we have produced today under both prefixes. We have always been a small family kennel, breeding only when we wish to produce the next generation to introduce to the show ring. Occasionally we do have babies available to the right homes but we are also often blessed with singletons that excel in the show ring proving the age old adage "it only takes one!" Our babies are raised in the home and are well socialized with fantastic temperaments seen in all our dogs. They are typical Siberians and only wish to be with you and please you, they will happily be a bed hog and lounge around all day or go for a 10km run with you. However, sometimes they feel that the way to your heart is through helping you with the gardening, plastering or even coming to find you when you leave them home alone. So as most breeders say "A Siberian Husky is not for everyone" please do your research before deciding that this wonderful breed is for you, as they certainly can be a handful at times. Canyonlands Siberian Huskies was established in 1997 by Katrina Fisher. Many beautiful dogs and bloodlines were imported into Australia by Katrina and many Supreme, Grand and Champion dogs were recognised for their quality from local and international judges. Many of these were awarded multiple BIS, BISS not only in Australia but in the USA and other Countries around the world. In 2014 I was honoured to be offered to continue the legacy of Canyonlands and the high standards of the beautiful Siberian Husky by Katrina after she decided to retire from breeding and showing. I'm looking forward to the future of Canyonlands with a exciting future breedings planned. I will be back out in the show ring again once life returns to normal with my youngsters who are coming along nicely.

My journey with Siberian Huskies started in 2011 when I welcomed my first Sibe into my home. That passion only grew, leading to many years of reserves and planning to finally welcome my foundation litter in 2022. One of my proudest achievements is Quinn – who has well and truly become the most titled Siberian Husky in Australia! She’s earned titles across Agility, Jumping, Rally Obedience, Lure Coursing, Tricks, Dances with Dogs, and the Endurance Test. On top of that, she is always a blast to run in dryland sledding, placing in the top three at every national event we’ve competed in. In 2023, Quinn and I made history as the first Siberian team to qualify for the Agility Nationals finals! At Isinnak, I believe a great dog is more than just titles though– it’s about finding that perfect balance between a loving family companion and an active pet who enjoys anything you wish to do with them. My goal is to produce well-rounded Siberians that thrive in both home life and the sporting fields. I take health and temperament seriously, ensuring all health testing is complete and available to puppy buyers. I have a strong knowledge of the temperaments of the dogs I breed. Our dogs are our family, they grew up around the family and are gentle and loving with our 4 children and us. We strive to better the breed standard. Our adults are DNA tested for any hereditary diseases before breeding. Pups are well socialised, around our 4 children, chooks and cat. They grow up around the noise of vacuum cleaners, music, and the usual everyday bang and clang of a family home ! Our pups do not leave us before 8 weeks of age.. we wait until they're physically and mentally ready. Our priority is the health and well-being of our dogs and pups.

My journey with the Siberian Husky began in 1996 with my very first dog. What started as a love for this remarkable breed soon developed into a lifelong passion for showing and breeding Siberian Huskies. Over the years I have been fortunate to work with and introduce influential bloodlines from around the world, always striving to preserve the breed’s correct type, temperament, and soundness. Through dedication to the breed and the sport, I became actively involved in exhibiting and breeding, enjoying success in the show ring while focusing on producing quality Siberian Huskies that reflect the breed standard. For around ten years I stepped away from showing to support my children as they pursued their passion for riding and competing with their horses. However, my love for Siberian Huskies never faded. The next chapter began when my youngest daughter, Lara, at just 13 years old, developed an interest in exhibiting our dogs. With renewed enthusiasm, I bred my last remaining bitch to a lovely male with strong and complementary bloodlines. From that litter came Supreme Champion Sledforce Here We Go Again, “Pandora” or “Panda.” Lara and Panda learned the art of the show ring together, gaining confidence and experience with every outing. Today Lara is one of Queensland’s top Junior Handlers, competing successfully at the highest levels. Watching her develop her own passion for the breed has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey.
