We are looking forward to confirming another frozen semen litter for May, when their GG Grandma will turn 15, from imported Swedish and Irish lines, aiming for the traditional coat well suited to home grooming plus quality temperament and health. We've bred Wheatens for over 2 decades after 30 yrs of Boxers and love their low odour & low allergy appeal. Our dogs have consistent success at Shows, particularly under International & Specialist judges and love to be trained. Margaret travels to Europe to source frozen semen, catch up with friends and share grooming tips. Our dogs are a fed natural diet built from professional experience in the field. Our breeding program health tests as per recommendations of UK Breed Club of which Margaret is a member. All dogs are clear of the DNA PLN gene variants, linked to kidney issues within the breed. Being retired our dogs have 24/7 care, plus we are always available for owner support. Whilst show pups are available, we breed for families. Occasionally older dogs are available. Late weaned, raised in the home, by 8 weeks pups have started manners, pen / crate, toilet & chew-toy training & enjoy their adventure playground. We've been in wheatens since 1997. We are a small home based kennel who breed Irish style wheatens for health, temperament and type. All our breeding stock is from some of the most renown International bloodlines. Wheatens are very clever and do well in obedience, agility and trialing and are wonderful house companions for any family or individual. We are careful breeders of health tested puppies and have a passion and love for this wonderful breed.We are grateful to our mentors and the wisdoms they have shared. Our aim is to breed the best possible happy good natured wheatens that we can,-best of temperament,good conformation,healthy pedigree,correct Irish coats,supported by health/genetic testing. Health testing includes OFA/AVA testing hips/elbows,examination of eyes,bloods/urine/renal U/S to check/avoid relevant kidney disease that can rarely come in the breed. We do not breed ANY dogs that carry PLN variant gene due to the real risk to puppies of developing PLN from having even one copy of the gene. Having a biomedical background,keeping on top of genetic studies and how such is related to health has been part of my work for 25years and I have enjoyed bringing that background into our breeding program. Broomsquires is one of the oldest kennel prefix for Staffordshire Bull Terriers in Australia, it was first registered in the UK by John and Eileen Sheward, then registered here by them. Graeme and myself took it as ours and we have used for our Staffords and now our Wheatens, which were formally under our Bilstonwake Irish Terrier prefix. Broomsquires has had other breeds in the past but is firstly a terrier kennel. We first started breeding in 1966 with Staffords and were involved with Boxers and Afghans with my parents. With all the breeds we have owned and bred, the importance is and has been always to focus on Type, Temperament, and aim to breed healthy dogs. We are happy to talk anytime about the breed or breeds we have had in the past.

My aim as a breeder is to breed happy, healthy Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, whether they are to be a cuddly family pet, champion show dog or a blue ribbon winner in dog sports (or even all of the above). I believe that my Wheatens are bred to a high standard and will give you and your family a lifetime of happiness with your furry friend. My Wheatens are best suited for families who will love and cherish them, considering their Wheaten to be an important family member. Puppies are very well socialized and introduced to many every day activities such as grooming, car rides, children and other dogs. Each Wheaten is health tested by qualified veterinarians and possess an outgoing, fun loving temperament. With 5 current SCWTs actively competing in shows they also enjoy participating in competitive and recreational dog sports such as Agility, Obedience & Lure Coursing. They have also been companion/therapy dogs for the sick and elderly, tv stars, performed on stage at pet expos, photo models for advertising and most of all, loving family pets. Sydney home of the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, now based in Jamberoo NSW. Beginning in 2006, Druidsglen breeds Wheatens with emphasis on health, temperament and genetic diversity. Our breeding programme is very select and all our dogs are now PLN/E clear. Our Druidsglen girls have all produced excellent offspring that have enjoyed success in the show ring as well as joining many happy families primarily based in NSW. Puppies are raised on our farm at Jamberoo and socialised with their siblings, mother and our busy family until they leave at 8 weeks minimum age. This allows us time to observe the pups and match their temperaments to their new family environment. Puppies go to their homes vaccinated, wormed, microchipped, DNA tested and registered. We encourage new owners to keep in contact and are always available to give ongoing advice. Testament to our success at breeding well adjusted pups is the number of people who add a second (or third!) of our Wheatens to their families. We (Iain and Clare and our three teenage sons) breed healthy, loving Soft Coated Wheatens from our home in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We have invested enormously in this breed, with seven imports to our Kennel's name, receiving consistent positive feedback from puppy homes all over Australia. Our dogs are known to be affectionate, playful, connected, biddable and suited to suburban life. We like to discuss the nuances of temperament and what you are looking for. All Alinex dogs are fully health tested hip and elbow scored, eye tested and full blood and urinalysis done. All Alinex breeding dogs are PLN clear, and vet certified health status updated prior to every breeding. We work from home and our puppies are raised in the centre of family life, with constant love and attention, and an enormous head start in toilet training. Our puppies come with a lifetime of support, our very own comprehensive puppy manual (so you can be perfectly prepared) and samples of training treats and chew toys. We regularly show our dogs and put them forward for appraisal by local and international judges. I have been part of Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier breeding for over 12 years (2007)! I co-ran Dangul Kennels since 2016 and prior to that I have been helping out for the Betandy Kennels. I have been breeding pure-bred Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers for as long as I was looking after them, so have much experience with their traits, temperaments and natures. I also have pedigrees tracing back to generations to know as far of each of my Wheaten's heritage as possible. I am in love with the breed as they truly remind me of human counterparts, in a dog's form. They read and understand our emotions, and love our attention. I breed pure Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers to result in puppies with good temperaments, playful and nurturing natures, healthy and genetically-evaluated for disease-free-carrying genotypes (PLN (protein losing nephropathy) gene and RD (renal dysplasia) gene-linked to kidney disease free, as well as tested for hip dysplasia).
