Lucas, a natural bob tail (NTB)came to live with us aged 10 months. Since then he has won 6 Best Exhibit in Specialty Show, a dozen other all-breeds and Specialty Best in Show awards, plus many Best in Group awards and is Victoria's only Grand Champion Tenterfield Terrier. Lucas is also currently the only Tenterfield Terrier in Victoria to hold an Earthdog title NE, proving he has the ability to perform the job for which he was bred. Lucas is a popular stud dog in Victoria, having sired some 15 litters. Among these 10 Champions from 9 different bitches already have attained the title of Australian Champion in 4 States, and one Flyball Champion. 'Rangeaire' comes into Tenterfield Terriers with considerable experience, having bred some 80 Champion Airedale Terriers in direct line. So, the decision to 'downsize' to Tenterfields was not taken lightly! With the addition of two bitches, we aim to selectively breed to establish correct breed type and balance within this breed. This includes consolidating an esthetically pleasing tail length, making full use of the natural bob tail gene that naturally occurs in this fascinating, recently recognized Australian breed. We are always ready to advise and assist with respect those newcomers to Tenterfields and/or showing and breeding dogs. We breed 'small dogs with big hearts' We are a small kennel that is passionate about breeding for the future of the Tenterfield in health, conformation and temperament. We are not always active in the show ring, preferring to concentrate on enjoying our dogs on our property, with friends or promoting the breed on the road as we travel in our caravan to other States in Australia. We take our girls with us and they are very popular wherever we go. We have three generations at home but will focus our breeding schedule on our two youngest girls - all being well! We have produced 9 Australian Champions to date with puppies going to homes in Victoria and other states. Our extended 'Tentella' family keep in touch and send photos of our babies so we can see them grow up and become the personalities and companions that make them so special in their lives. My husband and I were involved with the Tenterfield Terrier Club of Victoria for apprx 20 years - myself as President and Tony as Treasurer / secretary where we we proudly held these positions at various times. I now hold the role of President 2025. Also been a member of Dogs Victoria for over 20+ years. It is our joint goal now and into the future to continue to promote and support the breed in all ways. We want everyone to know what it is like to love and be loved by a 'Tenterfield Terrier'or two /three or more!

Skalawag Tenterfield Terriers was established by Dale McDonell in 2015. Sauvie (Ch. Larndora Ohso Sauve) and Katie (CH. Gumhaven Shes A Rainbow) both arrived that year and became Dale’s foundation breeding pair. Little did Dale know at the time just how significant these two would prove to be. The two most outstanding litters consisted of such notable progeny as Brownie (Grand Ch. Skalawag Oh Wow Its Mr Brown), Chip (Ch. Skalawag Oh So Debonaire) and Queenie (Ch. Skalawag Oh Wow Shes A Redhead) while the following litter produced Pixie (Skalawag Oh Hello), Indi (Skalawag Oh Wow Redheads Rule) and Peanut (Ch. Skalawag Oh Wow Look At Me) among others. My introduction into the Skalawag breeding program came about when I purchased Chip, Pixie and Indi for Ardchattan Tenterfield Terriers. Over the years Dale and I worked closely together and now as requested by Dale before her passing I will continue the Skalawag Breeding Program. Sauvie, Queenie, Pixie and Sera (Skalawag Sweet Serenade) form the basis of the program today while the sires Ch. Nudimah Mystical Maverick, Tenerello Valentino, Renaylbysh Hes A Winner and more recently the young sire River (Grand Ch. Jacksonhills Cry Me A River) have been used. The outcross females Wandji Brandy On Ice and Rubybrae Rosie have also been added. Rosie it is hoped will become Katie's replacement in being bred to Sauvie. The intention is to produce high quality breeding and show dogs as in the past and high quality pets.

Ardchattan is only a small, but very select kennel, breeding for quality rather than quantity. In breeding to the standard, conformation, movement, attitude and temperament is paramount. All ArdchattanTenterfields are PLL & CHG clear. I have had a long association with the breed. My parents having bred Mini Foxies for over 20 years whilst I was growing up and I have invariably had one since. In the past, over the years, I have had a significant interest in the genetics of breeding, Stud Cattle, Arabian Horses,Rottweilers and now Tenterfields. It was only natural then that in retirement I would again be drawn to breeding dogs again. In the last few years I have spent considerable time on the road, visiting breeders, researching the breed and the various bloodlines. To my minds eye, I have been attracted to and have incorporated the bloodlines of Skalawag, Nudimah, Gumhaven and Tenerello. My current litter of pups, which incorporate these lines, have vindicated those choices. I take this interest very seriously and derive a great deal of pleasure from it. In limited showing Ardchattan has had success in Best in Group, Class in Group, Best of Breed and Challenge wins. Skalawag Oh So Debonair (Chip) is tragically no longer with us. Our new sire Renaylbysh Hes A Winner (Finn) is proving to be a worthwhile replacement. His progeny have been well sought after. With plenty of room when outside to explore their surroundings and romp. Having previously always had large breeds, I became interested in Mini Foxies and Tenterfield Terriers. Then, breeding Mini Foxies for many years. Since, decided that Tenterfield Terriers are the only way to go! I hope to have interactions with Tenti breeders that have worked hard to achieve greatness in the Tenties.
