Kalaugher is a small, home-based Cocker Spaniel breeder in Weston, North Otago, New Zealand, dedicated to preserving correct breed type, sound temperament, and long-term health. Our aim is to produce well-bred, health-tested Cocker Spaniels that reflect the breed standard and are equally suited to the conformation show ring and family life. Our Dogs New Zealand registered Cocker Spaniels are raised as part of the family and are regularly exhibited in conformation. We breed only occasionally, usually when planning to retain a puppy for our own show team, and puppies are placed selectively in carefully chosen homes. All breeding dogs undergo comprehensive DNA health testing, including PRA-prcd, FN (AHRN), and AON, ensuring that no puppy bred at Kalaugher will be affected by these known hereditary conditions. Puppies are raised inside our home, where they receive extensive early socialisation with children and other animals, giving them a confident and well-adjusted start to life. We provide ongoing advice and support to puppy owners and maintain a lifelong interest in the welfare of the dogs we breed. Kalaugher is a South Island Cocker Spaniel breeder, and enquiries are welcome from those seeking a thoughtfully bred, healthy Cocker Spaniel raised with care, knowledge, and integrity.
