Tapua Labradors are located in Central West NSW. I have been a financial member of DNSW since 1986, I attained my breeders prefix in 1991. While trailing, in obedience and breeding Australian Kelpies during the 90's I took a break from the show and trial ring after an episode of cancer in 2003 I fully recovered by 2005 and elected to own and breed Labrador Retrievers. Our priorities are to breed Labs that will serve their owners and become operational is what ever job they are chosen for them. We focus on a breeding a Lab who conforms to the Dogs Australia Breed Standard for Labrador Retrievers https://www.dogsaustralia.org.au/members/Breed/Detail/7 Our Labs are competitive in the show ring and have placed or won classes at both Lab specialities and Sydney Royal, however our dogs shine behaviourally with a job. Our dogs has won service Dog of the Year 3 times offered by The Royal Agricultural Society. We aim, with our breeding program, to enhance the intelligence, loyalty and versatility of this breed. Our dogs have strong retrieval drive, focus and a 'switch off ability' so they can settle and be the gentle loving Labs we all know and love. Our unique puppy raising program creates robust temperaments and a brain that want to learn. The program has been designed based on evidence based scientific research into neurological and olfactory stimulation, pups experience ENS and ESI and pups are raised in an enriched environment.
