I have been involved with this beautiful breed for over 55years. I have bred almost 60 Champions and have campaigned or owned a further 8 Champions bred by others. My ongoing commitment to Golden Retrievers continues as I strive to produce sound, beautiful looking dogs who hold their own against tough opposition in the show ring who have won Best in Show All Breeds, Best in Specialty Show at National and Breed Shows as well as Gundog Group Specialties under local, interstate and international judges. I am an International All Breeds Judge and have judged in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, Japan, Estonia, South Africa, Thailand, Italy and the UK in recent years. My boys are all available to approved bitches with excellent breeder clearances. In 2016 all my hard work and the dedication of other wonderful owners paid off as I was Australia's NO 1 GR Breeder and have remained in the top 5 over the past decade. … currently in No 1 position again for 2024. Having an appreciation of the beauty & science of ‘midwoofery,' we produce both creams & golds with delightful features. We breed from only exceptional lines to bring lovable, well-mannered, intelligent dogs with a great charm. 'Wakatabu' is intentional about honouring each pup's temperament & character & we run pups through a specialised curriculum before matching them to their furever home. We believe our 'Goldies' ought to be treated like 'pure gold.' Therefore, 'Wakatabu Golden Retrievers' adhere to ethical & responsible breeding guides outlined by TAS CANINE ASSOCIATION INC. & expect for our new owners to take like prideful ownership. Precious, purposed & bred for maintaining the quality, health, welfare & soundness standards. All ‘Wakatabu’ puppies are vaccinated, micro chipped, wormed & vet checked. Many of our goldens are used in therapeutic settings; providing a gentle 'other' (non- human) presence.
