Our family has been breeding Golden Retrievers since the late 1990s. Our goal is to breed traditional Golden Retrievers with a focus on soundness, health, longevity and temperament. Our dogs are ideally suited to be family companions with confident and friendly dispositions and the intelligence to excel in disciplines such as obedience, tracking and agility. We place great value on type and conformation and our dogs pedigrees contain several Specialty Best In Show winners, Grand and Supreme Champions, and imports from England, Scandinavia and elsewhere in Europe. Puppies are raised in our home on our rural property outside of Canberra with every effort made to optimise their early socialisation and behavioural development. All of our dogs and bitches have been hip & elbow scored, have ophthalmologist certificates and sound hearts. John is a Dogs Australia CCD and CD obedience judge and Utility and Gundogs conformation judge. We breed 1-2 Golden Retriever litters per year. General enquiries welcomed by phone call and email only please; no SMS text messages. Please note that due to an overwhelming number of enquiries we are not maintaining a waiting list at this time. Sonza Golden Retrievers strongly advises only buying puppies from Dogs Australia breeders. Beware of puppies from breeders who are not members of a Dogs Australia affiliate (eg. Dogs ACT, Dogs NSW). If we are not expecting puppies, please contact your state Golden Retriever Club for breeder referral.
