Aprilsacre is a small family run kennel which has had Golden Retrievers as part of the family for over 15 years. Aprilsacre is expecting a beautiful litter of puppies in early March that will go to new homes in early May. The parents of this litter were bred for good health, low hip and elbow scores, to breed standard, with clear eye and heart certificates and full DNA profile testing. At Cedar Flat Farm we love to breed and raise gorgeous and confident golden retriever puppies ready for their forever homes. I'm an ethical breeder; my dogs are our family pets, and our puppies also become part of our family life while they are here. Our puppies are raised on our 22-acre farm in Northern NSW. For the first few weeks, they are raised inside with us as part of our family. They are handled and played with by both adults and kids, and as they grow, spend many hours each day running around and exploring our large fenced front paddock with our family Golden Retrievers. We also have a large safe outside puppy pen where they can explore and play on the grass in the shade during the middle of the day, and a large inside pen which we move them into of a night. They are given many toys to play with and as they grow are exposed to many different situations and stimulates to allow them to become confident and well-balanced dogs. I have 5 Golden Retriever Breeding Dogs - 3 girls and 2 boy. I only have 2 litters per year, and keep them 6 months apart. All my breeding dogs have pedigree papers, are DNA tested, have great hip and elbow scores, and have been cleared by a cardiologist and ophthalmologist for breeding. I am a member of Dogs NSW and abide by their breeding guidelines. We have been members of Dogs Victoria since 1999 and currently have a small breeding operation in South West Victoria on 15 acres. Our dogs have had all the necessary tests done to ensure they are physically sound. They are well socialised and love running free around the property chasing toys and especially swimming in the dam. They are familiar with sounds of farm machinery including motor bikes and mowers and are used to cattle, sheep, horses, chooks and the family cat. As retirees we are no longer involved in showing, and breed pups purely as companion dogs/pets. Our stud dog and 2 females are fully registered and come from very good genetics. Ironbark Golden Retrievers first came into being in 2006 and since then I have only bred sparingly. The main criteria for my breeding program is to breed pups sound in both mind and body. I expect that my pups are confident and outgoing in all scenarios , for example when exposed to clanging pots, my husband doing a bit of DIY and receiving visitors as I fully believe in early socialisation to help achieve my goal. My breeding contains both Australian and English working lines which, I feel, gives them the 'want to please' attitude which is so important for their future. I am currently competing in both Tracking and Scent Work trials with my young boy, Lewis, aka Ironbark Wind In the Willows who, at the tender age of 16 months has three scent work passes and his TD1 in tracking.

Our pups are 90% toilet trained by the time they go home and have had all experiences of crates & pens to set them up for their new life with you making the transition into a new home easier. As I am a professional dog trainer, they also have experienced the very basics of training such as follow food lures, waiting at gates, sitting for pats along with mental stimulation.
