Our Breeding Approach We plan for only one carefully considered litter each year, focusing on raising healthy, well‑socialised puppies who are ready to become part of loving family homes. Our pups grow up in a relaxed, rural environment with plenty of space, stimulation, and human interaction. We strive to breed labradors with sound health and good temperament with the outlook to improve the breed. With show and sporting bloodlines, our dogs love to be involved in it all however, also make wonderful family pets and companions. Our Dogs are hip and elbow scored, DNA tested and have current, clear eye certificates. Puppies will be well socialised in a nurturing environment from very early on in life and are handled by our family. They will also be exposed to other animals, noises and the outdoors to assist with desensitisation and development. WOODLANDLABS is a small, boutique kennel specialising in beautiful Chocolate Labrador Retrievers, located on a peaceful rural property in the Barossa Valley, South Australia. Our Labradors are not kennel dogs — they are our pets and cherished family members who live inside our home and share every part of daily life. We also have a gentle, patient cat who plays a wonderful role in each puppy’s early socialisation. Because the wellbeing of our dogs always comes first, we breed only every couple of years. This allows us to devote our full attention to each litter and ensures our girls remain healthy, happy, and well rested between litters. Our next planned litter is expected in late 2026, and we maintain a small waitlist for families wishing to register their interest. Health and temperament are the foundation of our program. Our dogs are fully DNA tested. They also hold excellent hip and elbow scores, giving every puppy the strongest possible genetic start. I only breed yellow Labradors.I hope to have a litter of puppies all golden/yellow later this year around Christmas time which will come from parents with great combinations. All puppies will be vaccinated, micro chipped,vet checked, and will come with pedigree papers regardless if they are for pedigree purposes or as a pet. Both parents are on view. I am committed to breeding the best labradors possible - with temperament, health, conformation and versatility all being vital "ingredients" in what I think a labrador should be. I'm keen to keep (and nurture) the natural retrieve drive this breed has, combining it with the temperament that makes them the ideal family pet, and also for them to be able to hold their own in the show ring - great structure enables them to be fit for function.
