We (Anne and son Andrew, and previously husband David) have been involved with Labradors since the early 80's - shooting over them, showing and occasionally breeding. We are a small kennel who have imported several Labradors from England and Australia, one from Sweden and semen from England, Australia and Finland. all in the interests of breeding the best we can. We breed to the highest ethical standards and only from parents who have acceptable results from the health tests required by Dogs NZ. Health tests include hip and elbow xrays and scores, eye test results (annual specialist exam, DNA testing), and DNA testing for the Dilute gene and Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), and others. We breed primarily for us to have something for the show ring, although some do not make the grade! Despite our focus on showing most of our pups are sold as pets to approved homes. We typically produce pups who are either yellow or black. We do not usually breed chocolates. We very occasionally have older dogs available for re-homing to approved homes. WE WILL NOT HAVE ANY LITTERS FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE We bought our first Labrador Duffy into the family when we were expecting our first grand child as we wanted a dog that would be great with kids. We couldn't be happier with our choice of breed, so we bought another, Cadie. In 2012 Duffy had her first litter. We kept a boy from this litter, Jingo and in early 2013 we took great delight in adding our gorgeous Jeda to the clan. We were well and truly hooked. Sadly over the years we have had to say goodbye to Duffy then Jingo and Jeda, but in 2022 we welcomed Luka, Duffy's great granddaughter, Jingo's granddaughter. At 9 months of age Luka was already winning obedience competitions following in Duffy and Jingo's footsteps. She is also showing a lot of promise with nose work. Duffy Cadie Jingo and Jeda were all part of a Pets As Therapy program in the local nursing homes and St John of God Hospital where they visited the elderly or unwell. All our dogs are fed a raw natural diet of meat bones and added supplements. All our dogs have excellent hip / elbow scores and have been DNA tested for PRA and EIC. Our labs are part of the family, they live indoors or out as they please and they all come on holidays with us. They stay with us through their retirement so we never have older dogs available My aim is to breed healthy, happy Labradors in a free range environment.

Next litter planned for early 2026. Expressions of interest taken now after mating our beautiful girl Jinx. Chocolate and Black expected and this is our second and last mating for Jinx who will be retired from stud after this litter, we will be retaining a chocolate girl ourselves after seeing how amazing her first litter was of the same cross. We have had several people coming back after for their second pups as they have found them to be full of character but also extremely trainable and relaxed dogs and have become wonderful family members for so many. Both parents have excellent hip and elbow scores and DNA testing along with all pups having been micro chipped, vaccinated and DNA tested prior to going to their new homes.
