I have been showing Papillons since late 2013 and came to the sport via obedience and trialling. I wanted to join my friends in the show ring and was looking for a dog that was small and easy to train. Papillons are the smartest dogs in the toy group and ranked about 8th overall. Their small size, good looks, sassy and happy outgoing disposition make them a perfect companion and they are ideal for smaller spaces as well as being dazzling little pocket rockets in the ring. All my dogs are DNA tested. Puppies and older dogs are sometimes available to the right home.

This beautiful Baroque silky-coated companion originated, as shown in Old Master's work, in Spain. These dainty, affectionate little beauties were gifted within Europe's Royal courts & graced the laps of European aristocrats. Papillons & Phalènes underwent breed consolidation in the 1500s due to French & Belgian breeders, giving us these enchanting yet robust little dogs. Internationally named Continental Toy Spaniels, they come in many beautifully shaded silky coats with Papillons exhibiting characteristic heavily fringed butterfly shaped ears. Littermates with low-set ears look more like the wings of a moth, hence the name Phalène. Our early beginnings began in the show ring with a Papillon called Jasmine (Champion Mookarma Femme Fatale), who is actually a Phalene. We met with Rick and Sue of Kalkite Papillons who helped and encouraged us to continue with Phalenes. Sue gifted us a beautiful Phalene bitch called Stephanie, (Kalkite Princess Stephanie) for which we will be eternally grateful for their generosity. Steffi is doing really well in the show ring. Recently Steffi won RUBOB (10pts) at Royal Canberra TOY Group show (S) 2021, judged by Mrs Anne Sorraghan (VIC). At The Royal Canberra Show on the same day Steffi won RUBOB (11pts) judged by Ms Frances Darling (QLD).

Having successfully bred Best in Show winning Great Danes, Beagles and Pugs in the past, about 8 years ago we fell under the spell of some gorgeous little Papillons that boarded with us for a month. After scouring the world looking for just the right dog, we purchased a young dog from Brazil closely followed by a young bitch from the same kennel. These two spent time in USA being shown and winning including several wins at the prestigious Papillon Club of America nationals. Voyeur and Fergie continued winning well in Australia and when mated together produced 4 pups who have all won in the ring including Baby in Show at Launceston Royal and Best in Show all breeds wins. Our aim is to produce happy, healthy beautiful little butterflies and no expense has been spared in achieving just that. Recently we have added a young girl from a much respected breeder in Germany, she in turn is sired by a Japanese dog just to round out our truly international flavour!
