We are Western Australian and Sheltie owners since 1969 and currently Breeding USA type. At Jmell we Hip score & DNA test every dog for all known diseases prior to breeding and only breed to these results to ensure we improve the genetics of all our dogs. We also Eye Test through the Ophthalmologist even though we DNA just to be sure there is no anomalies in eyes in any shape or form. Temperaments are also a Big Priority @ Jmell

I started with obedience then moved into conformation with my first sheltie Aust CH Jessenda Magic Beau ~ Simba My first bitch was Melbadonna Angelface ~ Angel, who did not like the ring like Simba but was the furpillow on my bed. I base my breeding on my love of the True English Type. Puppies are raised in my home & while I only breed occasionaly, I only let my furkids go to the best of forever homes. That is my priority. I continue show with much enjoyment & have had many successful memories to date. My dogs are my treasured furkids, who live in the house, not kennels. At Kasingal Shetland Sheepdogs our focus is on: • Solid temperament and outgoing natures - puppies are raised using Puppy Culture • Sound health and construction. Puppies Imprinting period opens at 3 weeks and closes at approx. 12 weeks, therefore, we will work with a puppy to provide the imprinting which is so important during this critical period. One of the most important characteristics of imprinting is that the knowledge is retained for life. Solid Foundation: By the time one of our puppies comes to your home they will have started basic toilet training, done baby recalls, walking on lead, socialisation with people and other animals, be used to being handled, introduced to novel items, sights and sounds, taught how to play and tug, basic retrieve, basic bite inhibition, used to different surfaces and textures, puppy sized tunnels/wobble boards/planks, things to climb in/on/over, things moving under foot, had car rides, ride on a blanket or in a box, play on balance discs and much, much more. We use the Puppy Culture & Avidog protocols which produce amazingly resilient, confident, enrichment seeking puppies who go on to become well rounded, outgoing, operant dogs. Our current team compete in Obedience, Rally, Tricks, Scent Work, Agility and the occasional show. Our dogs are DNA tested for all genetic diseases, ophthalmologist tested and hip/elbow scored.
