German Shorthaired Pointer Breeders

We are a small GSP kennel, only breeding occasionally. We live on 20 acres where we have plenty of room for exercise and training. Our GSPs make great family pets, show dogs and also excellent hunting dogs. Used and trained primarily for hunting, we have put much time and effort into training for this purpose. This breed have a great temperament and are relatively easy to train. We have sold our pups to a number of happy customers. Pointaway stud was established in 2023 and is the home of Zepheurae “Conjure The Night”, our beautiful black and white female. We are located in Euroa Victoria and have the occasional litter including black/white and brown/white puppies. Avemcanis – Breeders of Fine German Shorthaired Pointers for Home and Field Our journey with German Shorthaired Pointers began in 2003, when we welcomed our first GSP, Pointgold Apollo (Kez), into our lives. Hand-selected for us by Steve and Kim Burke of Pointgold Kennels, Kez was everything we could have hoped for in a dog—wonderful temperament, natural hunting drive, and a loyal companion at home. His talent in the field quickly shone through, earning him a Field Trial Championship, and he went on to sire several litters that carried his outstanding qualities forward. From one of those litters came our next champion, Doginit Sambuca (Reggie), another exceptional dog who followed in Kez’s footsteps by achieving his own Field Trial Championship. Reggie proved to be an influential sire, producing litters in Australia and abroad. His legacy continues through our current line of dams, including Field Trial Champion Stedipoint Are You Serious (Tess) and Avemcanis Rizzo (Riz), both of whom carry forward the hallmark traits of drive, bird-finding ability, and sound temperament. Over the years, we have been fortunate to own, train, and breed some of Australia’s finest bird-finding GSPs. What has always mattered most to us, however, is balance—dogs that perform at the highest level in the field, yet remain calm, affectionate, and loyal companions at home. We are Sunshine Coast-based breeders of GSPs who have been professionally and deeply involved in the dog world for half of our lives. I am personally a vet doctor with more than 10 years of practice. Also, we have been successfully running a dog boutique hotel on the Sunshine Coast for a long time and showing all our GSPs regularly in show rings, where our dogs have been winning so many awards and titles. All our dogs are living in luxurious conditions and having regular pool swims, mental stimulation training and socialisation training.
