OK, so maybe Miss Riffraff doesn't look like the average show dog. That's not because she doesn't scrub up a treat, but because we are much more interested in the fact that she's a fun dog who is great to live with. Riffraff turned fourteen in 2020 and is enjoying her retirement away from the hustle and bustle of our farm. We still have some of her granddaughters in our breeding program, though, as well as a few other lagottos we've collected along the way. We added Lagottos to our farmily because we wanted dogs that are not too big, friendly with the whole world, easy to care for and who love life. Our dogs are particularly fond of diving in water troughs, chasing butterflies and ducks, and curling up by the fire or under the computer desk at night. Exactly what we were looking for. We at Duoforza Kennels have been involved with the Lagotto for the past 20 years. Our foundation bitch was provided by the late Dr Margaret Giles, whose guiding hand gave us a successful program. We find the Lagotto to be a most endearing breed. They are intelligent and love their people. Our philosophy here at Duoforza is to breed healthy dogs that meet the standard without compromising temperament. And to carefully maintain the objectives of responsible breeding. Our puppies are well socialised and leave us after 8-12 weeks. All pups are microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and vet checked and are placed on limited register with DogNSW, unless previously agreed. All our prospective owners will have our ongoing support for the duration of your pets life. We compete in conformation shows and attend obedience when circumstances permit. We attend the different 'meet the breed' gatherings during the year and are actively engaged in promoting the breed throughout the community throughout the state. Over the years our owners have been committed to engaging in educating and achieving qualifications and titles with our pups in disciplines such as Rally O, Obedience, Nose Works, Tracking titles. Lagottostar are proud to be Number 1 Lagotto Romagnolo BREEDER of The Year in Australia for 2011, 13,14,15 &17 having produced Champion Lagotto Romagnolo's since 2010. Our progeny have gained Ch show titles, multiple BOB & RUBOB, CC at Royal shows around Australia. We have dogs who's dedicated owner achievements include: Rally O, Obedience, Tracking titles, Truffle work, Disability dog, Nursing home & Therapy work. We travelled to Italy's 'Bagnara di Romagna Lagotto Raduno' in 2012, expanding our breed knowledge and have since invested ample time into truffle work education to Australia, including the promotion of Swiss truffle training expert Denise Stalder (2014) to Bredbo NSW. We're passionately involved with expanding "Truffle Sports Australia" education, with Denise's help. For example, Truffle sports (FB page) will be featured at this years Animal Expo, April 2018. Truffle sports training days are also held at our property. In 2010-2017 we volunteered for the Lagotto club of SA, promoting ample breed curricular activity the past decade. Including showcasing dogs each year Club events (Expo, Carnevale) & our dogs have featured in the DogsNSW Breed feature for 2012) . We do all current testing - HD,EYE, LSD, & BFJE, HUU, COAT & Volhard test only selectively breed toward betterment every few years or so, with a focus on introducing new lines suitable for disability assistance/ truffle/ working and show abilities when requested by family & friends.

We have kept the Lagotto Romagnolo breed for a number of years & there are many Incavale Lagottos competing in conformation shows & other ANKC dog sports throughout Australia and overseas. Some of our boys & girls are now registered Therapy Dogs, we have a number being used as truffle dogs, some are being trained as retrievers & there are of course others that are family pets. Most if not all of our mature show dogs are titled & we have younger dogs well on the way to becoming champions. We breed to the Breed Standard & our dogs are raised in an environment that assures social confidence and good health. Our dogs are health tested for all known issues affecting the breed. We keep a number of stud dogs & will only breed dogs that have excellent hip & elbow scores. We also test patellas We have imported a number of titled working dogs from Europe, have imported semen available & keep both locally bred & imported dogs for stud work. We sometimes have puppies available to select homes and we are quite happy to have visitors interested in the breed, visit us. It's important for those who have an interest in learning more about the breed to understand that this breed is a working dog breed and it is essential that you have time to train your Lagotto. The Parity team is a mother/daughter collaboration and we have been involved with the breed since 2008. We were in NSW but are now based in South Australia. We enjoy our lovely dogs as members of the family. Our lines are based on dogs we have been fortunate to import from fantastic kennels overseas. We are always grateful for co-operation with other breeders here in Australia too, it's great to work together toward improvement of the breed. Those dogs that are old enough have been hip and elbow scored with excellent results. Patellas, hearts and eyes are checked. We use MyDogDNA genetic testing for every dog used in breeding to ensure that our dogs are clear of any known issues within our breed. Temperament is of utmost importance. The Lagotto Romagnolo is an intelligent working breed and, despite their cuddly look, they can be quite high energy and definitely require training and boundaries. Wispan is a small but dedicated kennel on the Sunshine Coast of Qld. I strive for excellence in my breeding by using sound stock of excellent temperament and type. I have been involved with this breed since 2009 and I am very fortunate that my foundation bitch came from Greydove Kennels and my dog from Kebro Kennels, both from imported lines. We are relatively new to this delightful breed, but not new to dogs, having successfully shown and bred for many years. Our first girl Sofi was such a joy to live with, we had to have another, so along came Gina and earlier this year we completed our rainbow family, when our striking boy Rommy joined us. All our dogs have had the relative health checks and live in the house as part of the family. We are a small breeder of Lagotto Romagnolos based in Melbourne. Our aim is to breed healthy Lagottos with a great temperament and a good conformation. In our view the perfect Lagotto should be friendly and energetic with no resource guarding and it should display a great working drive. We have chosen Panda as our foundation bitch as she has the most wonderful temperament and is very smart and keen to learn. Castagnetta translates to "Little Chestnut Forrest" which is synonymous with the Lagotto Romagnolo I spent quite a few years researching and learning about the Lagotto Romagnolo before I acquired my girl, Pearl. I have young children with allergies so I needed to make sure the Lagotto Romagnolo was going to be right for our family - having the correct temperament for being around young children and also having a coat that wasn't going to affect the allergies in our family. Pearl (Ch Duoforza Olympia) came to us in 2016 and was raised in our family of 3 young children, a Boxer and a Shih Tzu - she fit in perfectly! I also took the plunge and started showing her, we learnt together and made many mistakes along the way, but it was always fun and we both enjoy it. I am a Family Dog Home breeder with this being my first litter. My dogs have excellent Lagotto characteristics and my girl is DNA tested and Vet checked. I have been a member of Dogs NSW and the Lagotto Club of NSW for 10 years plus. My dogs have been raised as pets but have participated in small agility and sell activities with the club. Their parents have all come from a prominant breeding kennel with great record. Although my Lagottos were never shown they are loving and faithful friends and Im sure the puppies will make wonderful pets or even show dogs if you enjoy that too.
