Breeding for Type, Temperament and Soundness since 1995. We have been Showing and Breeding Rhodesian Ridgebacks for 30 years, producing multiple Champions, Grand Champions, Best in Show and Best in Specialty Show winners. In saying that, our dogs are a loved part of our family first and foremost. They have stolen not just our couches and our bed, but our hearts. At Otesha Rhodesian Ridgebacks, we don't have time to build commercial looking websites, because when we aren't working to support our dogs we are spending time with them, they're our fur-family. We don't have a regular abundance of puppies, as we are not running a kennel, our dogs are our loved pets. However when we do breed, all our Ridgebacks are x-rayed and scored for Hip & Elbow Dysplasia prior to the breeding taking place. They are also DNA tested for Degenerative Myelopathy (Clear) & JME (Clear). Our puppies live inside our house where they learn to be part of the family and leave our home vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and come with an 18kg bag of food, bowl, collar & lead, bed, cuddle teddy, toys, treats, worming tablet and an information booklet. More importantly you receive true lifetime support which includes phone, message and email support, and free training sessions for anyone who lives within an hour travel, or is willing to travel to us. Ujamaa kennels- breeders of champions and companions since 1978. We have owned or bred over 40 Champions, but show rarely these days. Our primary objective is to breed sound companions- to do this we source the best stud dogs for our girls- most recently travelling to Crufts in the UK and the World Dog show in Croatia to find the best. Our current companion is young Nellie related to our recently departed Aust Ch Ujamaa Alessandra Facchinetti (Allie) and Ujamaa Winx, daughter of Int Ch Vizara Jukati and Allie. I have a particular interest in genetic diseases and dogs we breed with are routinely screened for sound hips, elbows and degenerative myelopathy (DM). Some lines are also screened for cardiac issues by ultrasound and/or hypothyroidism. We also work with Cat Glenn and family- they are owned by Zuri and Rosie. Fran Parsons and her pack are also in "the family"

Only breeding occasionally our puppies are raised in a rural family home environment socialized with both children and adults along with other family pets/ livestock.
