I have been involved in dogs all my life as my grandmother bred and showed dogs and was also a judge, she passed on her passion of dogs to me. I bought my first ridgeback in 2002 and now have 8. We live on five acres in perth WA where my dogs are a very important part of the family, I have bred and titled Australian champions and hope to continue with my second generation of Tannu Ridgebacks. I am currently trialing 2 of my dogs in lure coursing and one has achieved his JC title and now onto his Single Field Title. My dogs and puppies are all raised in the houseand have free run of my 2 acres of garden and are feed a top quality natural diet . My dogs have excellent hip and elbow scores , tested for DM and JME , heart clear, and are all sound and of good temperament. In all the years l have been breeding all my puppies have been DS free.

We are located in the beautiful Perth Hills on 5 acres . Our aim is to breed sound Ridgebacks that are true to type. All of our dogs are tested for DM, hip and elbow scored and full DNA profile completed before breeding. Whether choosing a Ridgeback for a family companion, for show or other discipline we believe a sound temperament is vitally important. Our Ridgebacks live in the house with us and are an important part of our family. Our puppies are raised in a family environment in a busy house around young children and exposed to as many everyday experiences as possible. Puppies occasionally available to select homes.

We’ve been proudly owned by Rhodesian Ridgebacks since 1998, after falling in love with the breed while working in South Africa. What began with one dog quickly grew into a lifelong passion, and today, our Ridgebacks continue to be cherished members of our family. Raised in our semi-rural bushland home alongside children, chickens, and other animals, our dogs enjoy a rich and active lifestyle. They’re part of our everyday lives—joining us on outings, relaxing around the house, and participating in a variety of activities including conformation showing and other canine sports. As a select breeder, we focus on quality over quantity, breeding occasionally with a strong emphasis on sound temperament, health, and breed integrity. All our dogs are x-rayed for hip and elbow dysplasia, tested for Degenerative Myelopathy and epilepsy, and have full DNA profiles completed. Welcome to Milahri Rhodesian Ridgebacks! We have owned and loved this breed for over 22 years. We are a small kennel situated approximately 1 hour north of Albany, 3-4 hours south of Perth. Our dogs have been raised on our farm with our animals and children, and are very much a part of the family. We breed for temperament and soundness, and our dogs are fully health tested. Our long affinity with, and extensive research of, Rhodesian Ridgebacks led to our foundation girl in 2011. Koko was the beginning of a wonderful journey and our pack of 5 now live with us on our bush acreage in the Perth Hills. Phakama Ridgebacks are a select small kennel and breed infrequently, to maintain and improve our lines only, and all puppies are raw fed and raised with a puppy culture program. Puppies live in the house and have monitored free range of our property as they grow. They are taught to "speak dog" by the rest of the pack and flourish easily. All puppies go to approved homes only. Health testing is a priority and all our dogs are AVA hip/elbow scored, heart screened by a cardiologist, and have a full Orivet DNA Breed Profile completed. We believe sound temperaments are essential! Every dog we have bred and kept has participated in Conformation Showing and we are proud to have bred 2 Australian Champions. Not all dogs like the show ring, so we also participate in Lure Coursing and two of our pack gained their JC titles in this discipline. All have completed a Masters in Owning their Human ;) We are members of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of WA and registered members of Dogs West and Dogs Australia. We are proud to have the friendship, and mentorship, of some amazing breeders, around Australia and the globe, as we continue the journey of preserving our beloved breed.
