Rhodesian Ridgeback Breeders, Mundaring WA

We are located in the beautiful Perth Hills on 5 acres . Our aim is to breed sound Ridgebacks that are true to type. All of our dogs are tested for DM, hip and elbow scored and full DNA profile completed before breeding. Whether choosing a Ridgeback for a family companion, for show or other discipline we believe a sound temperament is vitally important. Our Ridgebacks live in the house with us and are an important part of our family. Our puppies are raised in a family environment in a busy house around young children and exposed to as many everyday experiences as possible. Puppies occasionally available to select homes.

Our long affinity with, and extensive research of, Rhodesian Ridgebacks led to our foundation girl in 2011. Koko was the beginning of a wonderful journey and our pack of 5 now live with us on our bush acreage in the Perth Hills. Phakama Ridgebacks are a select small kennel and breed infrequently, to maintain and improve our lines only, and all puppies are raw fed and raised with a puppy culture program. Puppies live in the house and have monitored free range of our property as they grow. They are taught to "speak dog" by the rest of the pack and flourish easily. All puppies go to approved homes only. Health testing is a priority and all our dogs are AVA hip/elbow scored, heart screened by a cardiologist, and have a full Orivet DNA Breed Profile completed. We believe sound temperaments are essential! Every dog we have bred and kept has participated in Conformation Showing and we are proud to have bred 2 Australian Champions. Not all dogs like the show ring, so we also participate in Lure Coursing and two of our pack gained their JC titles in this discipline. All have completed a Masters in Owning their Human ;) We are members of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of WA and registered members of Dogs West and Dogs Australia. We are proud to have the friendship, and mentorship, of some amazing breeders, around Australia and the globe, as we continue the journey of preserving our beloved breed.
