Although we enjoy great success in the show rings, our Shibas are our family companions first and are usually found making themselves comfortable on our couches & beds. We have only had this breed since 2014, a bitch from the Snowstars kennel, however have been successfully showing and breeding Pomeranians and Standard Poodles in excess of 30 years. In 2015 we imported our male, Taiyou, from the famous Kagiyasou kennel in Japan bred by Mr Mori. We purchased a bitch in 2016 with the type of Japanese lines we would like to continue. We acquired a stud puppy in 2017, having kept a bitch from our own prefix in 2016. We have titled all 7 of our showdogs to their Champion status. In 2019 we were fortunate to source a UK bred male from Japanese lines from Rakurai kennels. Taiyou our Japanese dog has achieved his Supreme title winning 2 x Best in Show and 2 x Runner up Best in Show. He was top Shiba Inu Australia 2018 (Dogzonline) Taiyou won Best of Breed at Brisbane Royal 2016 Chie Ejima - Japan and in 2017 as well as Best of Breed Sept 2016 under specialist Mr Satoshi Besho (Japan) July 2018. To date 2025 have made up several Champions and Best in Show winners and intend pursuing excellence in this breed. Taiyou is available at stud to approved bitches with conditions. The female, Umeko (Japanese for plum child), is a beautiful even tempered girl who is very affectionate and loves nothing more then to cuddle up for some pats. Mikenwa Shiba Inu was established in 2023 when I emigrated to Australia and brought my two Shiba Inu’s from the UK. Janet an 11 year old retired female, and Tucker my 2-year-old boy. In 2024 I imported a new female, and she is now part of our pack. I maybe new to the world of Shiba’s but I have had a passion for them for many years. I have been mentored by my good friend Mrs Irene Rushfirth of Hikays Show Kennels, who has been in dogs for over 50 years and has a wealth of experience in Shiba Inu’s and who is also a well-respected Judge and breed specialist in the dog show world. She has also bred all of my dogs all of whom come from great blood lines that can be traced back to over 100 years. They have great personalities and temperaments which is testament to their breeding and breeder. My dogs are health tested, hip & elbow, patella grading and eye & breed specific DNA tested. Copies of these reports can be requested on application for a pup if required. My dogs are kept as pets and are not kept in kennels. Future puppies will also be raised in the home and be socialised by me. My pups will come with full paperwork, micro chipped, 1st inoculations & wormed. Morgerot is a young kennel however the success in the show and trial ring speak for themselves. Puppies are not always available, since I only breed every few years and spend the time in-between showing and trialing my dogs.
