At the tender age of approximately 13 years he won a Speciality Best in Show under the well known and respected Gundog Specialist Stephanie Rickard. He is now enjoying retirement on that high note and providing guidance to his progeny. Tia- Tal's daughter, also an in show and in group winner is about to return from maternity leave. Treasure (AI) - the new addition to the family from Tia and Statesman Spectacular Bid (USA) has already won a few Baby in show and group and will be giving her best to achieve greatness and will try and better the results her mother and grandfather have been able to achieve.

Mycroft is a small kennel located at Lower Portland, near Windsor NSW. My love affair with Welshies began in the 80's when I saw 2 dogs imported into Australia by Scott & Eira Taylor (Nantyderi) from New Zealand. At the time there were only a few of the breed in Australia, so to further my knowledge of this beautiful breed, I decided to go to "Crufts" in the UK were I could see the breed in numbers of over 400 with outstanding depth of quality. I have had the opportunity to visit & meet some of the breeders of the best Welsh Springer Kennels in England, Scotland & Wales & see some of the best Welsh Soringer Spaniels in the world. I believe that the best dogs come from the UK & we breed to the UK Breed Standard. Over a period of time I have imported 4 dogs from the UK including an English Show Champion from one of the top kennels there. My most recent import, Supreme Champion Bushwacket Hot Pursuit via Highclare (UK) "Chase" is a Multi Best in Show, All Breeds winner. I travel regularly overseas to go to shows in both England & Europe & as a Licenced All Breeds Judge, have judged the breed in many countries of the World & also give the Breed Lecture for the Conformation Judges Training Scheme for Dogs NSW. My dogs are Best in Show winners, Runner Up Best in Show winners & Multi Group & Class in Show winners & most importantly of all, a joy to live with. All stock are hip & elbow scored & eye tested.

Featherdale Welsh Springer Spaniel Kennels was established in 1988 and resides in Goulburn NSW. Welshies have been a part of our lives for over 30 wonderful years. Breeders of Welsh Springer Spaniels since 1989 at Laugharne Kennels we believe we are not so much a kennel but a "tapestry" and every dog and owner is a precious thread in their own right. We have added new threads to our breeding "tapestry" by importing semen from Sweden and Finland and more recently importing Oliver from the UK. Our aim is to breed healthy dogs with good temperaments whilst remaining faithful to the breed standard. All our dogs are hip and elbow scored and eye tested we also complete DNA health testing on all breeding dogs. Puppies are raised in our home with all our dogs being house dogs. We have been involved in the Dog World for the past 28 years. I started out with Obedience then Tracking and Conformation, first with Rough Coat Collies, Coolies and then with German Spitz. I then had a break to have children before I found what for us is the perfect breed, and that is the Welsh Springer Spaniel. I can't see us ever having anything else as a breed. They are a joy to have part of the family. Great with children and ready for any active family. They are a gorgeous looking, active, intelligent breed with quite an easy coat to care for with minimal trimming. Being active and smart they need a daily walk and run and an activity to occupy their brains, then they are happy to chill out with you at home. Being medium size, clean and people orientated they are perfect to join in with all your family activities. Caring about the breed as we do, all our Welshies are health tested before being selectively bred so as to maintain the health of and improve the breed. Puppies come raised with love in the family and are Vaccinated, Microchipped and Vet Health checked.

He returned to showing as a 9 yr old neuter & successfully completed his Neuter title as a 10 yr old. He was Number 1 Neuter Gundog Qld 2014 (DOL pointscore) as well as No 1 Neuter WSS in QLD & Australia 2014. We welcomed a new welshie to the Trenzalore family in Dec 2015, a beautiful little girl "Stevie": Ricochez Gerwyn Saffir (AI), daughter of the late great Oscar (Sup Ch Shandwick Raffles) & the lovely Emily (Gr Ch Sarabande Sea Of Dreams), both UK imports. We have assisted the Goldmaid girls several times over the years with campaigning and titling a couple of their boys, both going home with mutiple fringies! Wynion is a relatively new prefix, however I have owned welsh for most of my life. Currently owning 1 neuter bitch and her 2 daughters, my mum and I get them to shows when possible. However, they are our family members first and foremost. As such, they have proven to have wonderful agility, and amazing gentle natures being raised with orphan lambs, calves, horses, chickens, guinea pigs and kangaroos. Myffy in particular has always loved baby animals of any species and is a very sweet soul with babies and children. Seeking out their company, and sitting quietly with them. I endeavour to encourage my puppy owners, as well as any other breed enthusiasts to get out there and have a go in the show world. Myffy has now started several juniors, and has numerous children and grandchildren also out and about rocking it! It's been a privilege to also begin organising meetups, and sharing the welshie love from all breeders. Working alongside like minded people to improve the breed and it's health is my goal. To do so, we have a couple of very exciting litters planned for the first half of 2025! Visitors and enquiries always welcome!

At Frecklewyn we believe that welsh springers are not just beautiful - they are also excellent dog sport competitors and all-round wonderful companions. Our foundation bitch, Ch Mycroft My Bridie ,is currently competing successfully in Obedience and Rally, and has enjoyed introductory training in Tracking and Retrieving. Bridie is also outstanding at demanding pats and cuddling on the lounge! We believe that any breeding program should seek to produce dogs of excellent temperament, conformation and health. We are particularly concerned with reducing the risk of inheritable diseases, and thus ensure all relevant health tests have been done prior to breeding.
