Esilap Kennels {est 1955} have been breeding quality pedigree dogs for the show ring and loving pets for nearly 70 yrs with many Champions to our credit. First with Labradors, Esilap Shady Lady in 1956 was our first champion and now with Whippets with Esilap Elektra being the first black whippet bitch to get her title in Victoria in nearly 50 yrs at only 14 mths of age. I have had whippets for well over 35 years now, Mostly as my much loved pets. I have hunted with them and raced them for years and have now decided to continue on with them in the show ring as well as Lure coursing. Our whippets here consist of American and English lines mostly but some Australian blood as well. We sometimes have retired adults available to loving homes. Whippets joined our Border Collie family 15 years ago. Since then, they have taken over the Khayoz house!! Thanks to some experienced breeders for sharing their breeding with us, we have been fortunate to breed some lovely Whippets ourselves. We have had much success in the showring but have also bred some lovely Whippets who are now enjoying the best life in their homes. PER RB101239 After a lifetime of owning , breeding, showing and competing in obedience with German Shepherd dogs, I have recently re- established my prefix Zapotec to concentrate my attention on whippets, discovered somewhat by chance, and now my constant companions. Kanati Goddess of the Vanir, Freyja, is my foundation girl, now kept company by her daughter , Bronacre Pandora, who is currently training in obedience, and daughter, Zapotec Geisha. Zapotec puppies are healthy, friendly family oriented puppies, with outgoing temperaments. Puppies are initially raised indoors, and then conditioned to an indoor/ outdoor environment. Zapotec Blackopal (TK.S (Opal ) has been confirmed in whelp to Ch. Versatet Son Of A Witch SC. SPRD TD (Eitan) with puppies expected the first week in March, 2026. Welcome to Twmbarlwm (pronounced Tomb-bar-loom) whippets. Difficult to pronounce given the lack of vowels, unless you have a Welsh background! A nod to an ancient hill fort near my childhood home, to which I have walked many times. The views are unforgettable over the River Severn Estuary and Bridge, across to Bristol and over the lush Welsh Valleys. Since a child whippets have been a part of the family, both in Wales & Australia. A very confident and smart whippet ‘Jasmine’ was the catalyst for my research into breeding practices. Jasmine left us at the young age of 7 due to an inherited condition of Mitral valve disease and pulmonary stenosis, we were devastated. This event was the beginning of my research journey into canine genetics, nutrition, structure and movement, along with best practice puppy socialization. Lots of reading, courses and exams and I am now at the point of starting my breeding program. I have gained a certificate in canine genetics, an Educated Breeder Certificate from Therapy dogs Australia Breeder Standards and am continuing to build on my nutrition knowledge with a 12 month Professional Certification in canine biological nutrition & dietetics. I am also completing a canine first aid course.
