Here at Shawthing we are aiming to produce quality whippets with our dynamic foundation stock. Thanks to the support of some great & experienced breeders we have been blessed with some truely beautiful whippets. Our first whippet was Gr Ch Devine That's My Opinion Imp NZ. Thatcher is a multiple Best In Show winner & a proven Sire with many of his progeny making their mark in the showring. His daughter Ch.Oakway Party Trix is a multiple Best In Show winner & the current Queensalnd Puppy of The Year(2008). Then his son Ch Oakway Party Ice is also a Runner Up Best In Show winner & a multiple Group winner. Both of these kids are only 2 yrs old & are heading for awesome Show Careers. Our homebred Shawthing Onya Scooter is blazing the way to a successful show career already winning the Baby Puppy dog Class at the Whippet Assoc of Vic Specialty Show & many Baby in Groups. We look forward to the future for this promising young man. I am a small kennel & have been showing Whippets for over 20 years now. I breed for the correct standard height in a Whippet, type & outgoing personalities. I am registered Whippet breeder with Dogs Queensland. In that short period I have spent most of that time learning pedigrees, going over dogs, talking, & learning from those in my breed & those outside it. I raise each litter as if I gave birth to them & spend an equal amount of time finding them the best loving forever homes. I only put puppies on this planet that I think will be the healthiest (mentally and physically) & nicest examples of their breed. I continually support each family who choose one of our puppies & let them know they are now a part of my extended family. I am there if one needs to come back & I will aggressively pursue the return of one of my dogs if it's in the wrong place. I support The Whippet Club of Queensland in rescue and education. I hold them when they arrive & when possible I am there when they leave this world. I share my knowledge & socialize my dogs so that they will be the advertisement for our dedication. I do not keep track of the money, the time & the love that we put into my dogs, it would not be a true measure of how I feel. The price of my puppies is never for profit, but for investment in the next generation. I am not ashamed of who I am, I work hard at being a responsible dog person and encouraging others to be the same. I am a proud breeder, dog exhibitor and a Whippet lover.
