I am a Long-standing dedicated Basset Hound breeder, having successfully exhibited my Bassets at not only Breed Specialty shows, but also All Breed Shows. My first Basset came into my life in late 1969, and for the past 50 plus years, Basset Hounds have continued to be much loved family companions. I am a Life Member of the Basset Hound Club of Victoria Inc, Member of Basset Hound Club of NSW, and a member of Dogs Victoria (affiliated Dogs Australia/ANKC). I am an experienced ANKC licenced judge for Hounds (group 4); Gundogs (Group 3); Working Dog (Group 5) and Non-sporting (Group 7), and regularly judge these breeds, not only in Australia, but also New Zealand, and the USA. I have also judged Basset Hounds at Breed Speciality Championship Shows not only within Australia, but also New Zealand, the UK as well as the USA. Thoughtfully bred, and lovingly raised puppies from health tested parents, are occasionally available to good homes only.

We are located on a small acreage in the Wide Bay Region of Queensland. Where our Bassets enjoy our home life and their kennels. Since 2008 we have enjoyed a number of successes in the Show ring, Breeding our dogs that have won Best in Groups and Shows and culminating in Best of Breed/Group Winner at the Brisbane Royal "EKKA" with my Girl Lowset Our Queen Victoria. Our focus is Breeding Bassets for type, conformation, bone and a wonderful temperament. Importantly our Breeding program only includes those that have been ANKC eye tested and approved. Going some way to future proofing the Basset from health issues. Our puppies are born in our home (our bedroom) and are socialised with other animals including our cats and are gradually introduced to the whelping bay by the time they are six weeks old and from there to the grown up kennels. They go through all the required pre-approvals before they go to there forever home and are micro-chipped, vaccinated, wormed, Dogs Queensland Registered, DNA tested, Vet Checked and provided with a personalised Lowset Puppy and Advance Puppy Pack. I encourage all purchasers to contact me should they be unable to care for their Basset so that I might be able to re-home where ever possible We are not frequent breeders and breed mainly for ourselves to have a dog/bitch to Show in the ring as this has become a favourite past time. A welcome social occassion for our four legged family and ourselves

Cayugaridge has been breeding basset hounds after competing in the hound ring for over 15 years with standard wire dachshunds and breeding American cocker spaniels for over 20 years in the USA. Our lines are based on imported American and European lines, as well as Australian lines from Beauchasseur basset hounds. We test all our dogs for key basset hound health issues including LaFora, POAG, severe autoimmune syndrome and thrombocytopaenia. We pride ourselves on great basset temperaments, type and correct movement. We've imported and added leading European lines to enhance our breeding program in 2025 with importation of both Van Grunsven and Grand Grades sires. In 2024, we showed the No. 1 leading breed point winner in NSW, our tricolour Fern, Ch Cayugaridge Chartreuse, and No.2 breed point earner in the nation, tricolour Fitz, Ch Cayugaridge Curacao. Our pretty red and white youngster Ch Dowjacs Bejamin Button AI was No. 1 rising star in NSW and No. 3 rising star nationally. In 2025, Ch Cayugaridge Chambord and Cayugaridge Camus in the top rising star and breed point earners, sired by our tricolour Curacao out of the Botanist. We have two litters planned in late 2025 with both Ch Cayugaridge Chartreuse and Ch Dowjac Miss Priscilla bred to our young sires, potentially delivered in late December. Our recent Fitz litter with Dotti aka Woodenhead Juliet has produced 11 llovely pups now sold. Next litter coming in December 2025.
