We are a small kennel in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We breed for soundness and specialise in parti colours, especially tricolours, our favourites. We generally have only one or two litters per year. Our pups are raised entirely inside and are used, from birth, to being handled by humans. Frequent visits from our grandchildren ensures that our pups are used to children. All of our pups are health checked and vaccinated and introduced to the concept of house training before leaving us. We do, however, recommend to all of our puppy purchasers that they seek a veterinary opinion as soon as possible after the take delivery of their new pups. We have been lucky enough to have imported a lovely tricolour dog from England - Avalcier Nicholas. He is beautifully bred and has some top winning English cavaliers including Ch. Craigowl Billy Elliott and Ch. Miletree Nijinskiin his pedigree. His picture and pedigree can be viewed in his profile on this site. All of our breeding stock are heart and eye checked by veterinary specialists. Currently all breeding stock hold heart and eye clearances.

At Trescaval there is not too much fanfare about show results, even though I show on a regular basis. We focus on health testing & on breed type, choosing to be known for QUALITY, not quantity. In 2016 we achieved our first Grand Champion: BISS Grand Champion Trescaval Apres Midnite. Exhibiting at Cavalier specialty shows across Australia is paramount for Trescaval. Our Cavaliers are bred from selected UK lines. We breed 1-2 times a year and try to consistently produce sound Cavaliers of good breed type. Our Cavaliers live with us in our home in a climate-controlled environment, not in a kennel. Our dogs have access to grass and outdoor facilities during the day, and are regularly exercised. I bought my first Cavalier in 1989 & have exhibited/handled many breeds over the years. All of our breeding dogs are health tested (hearts by a cardiologist, eyes & DNA testing). We consider heart testing to be essential for the longevity of the breed, that's why I specialist test. New owners receive at least THREE health certificates for the mother (heart, eyes, patellae, CC/DE & Epis Fall). Breeder of Best in Show, Runner-Up Best in Show, multi-class in show and group, multi-group, & speciality-placed winning Cavaliers. Genuine enquiries welcome. Call me to discuss your requirements. We annually heart and eye test our dogs and all of my dogs are DNA tested for breed specific conditions. Occasionally we have happy, healthy, well adjusted puppies of all four colours available to loving, responsible pet homes. All puppies not kept for showing are sold on Limited (Pet) Registration. They are vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and vet checked before going to their new families. Genuine enquiries always welcome. Next litter due January 2025 3 puppies born 22nd and 3 born on 25th Jan. All puppies are on hold pending their assessments at 8 weeks.

I have bred and/or owned over 50 Champions of various breeds in Australia and New Zealand, but have now down-sized and only have Cavaliers. Over the years, my dogs have won numerous BIG/RUBIG awards, as well as Multi In-Show awards at Specialty and All-Breeds Shows under All-Breeds and Specialty Judges. My Cavaliers have FULL PROFILE DNA testing (includes CC/DE/EFS/DM/CM) ... and have regular heart assessments. Health and longevity is the proof in the pudding ... and until recently, we had 4 Cavaliers between 10-13 years old running around the back-yard (all home-bred). I breed all four colours, and I have puppies available occasionally. We live on a small farm in north-west NSW, where our dogs have plenty of room to run and play, fresh air, good food and water and plenty of attention. They love showing just about as much as we do. We have shown 18 Cavaliers to their Australian Championship title and 15 of these were bred by us in the Maxemil prefix, including one Supreme Champion. Health and temperament are our priorities, combined with correct conformation and type. Cavaliers have to be the most beautiful breed who readily to adapt to whatever it is their owners want - active or sedate. They are happiest just to be with you and included in your life. Don't think of buying a Cavalier unless you want a constant companion. Potential adoptive families, should be prepared for the "third degree" as we want only the best homes for our puppies and older dogs, who are all sold as family pets. We do not export or ship dogs by air or road, nor do we deal through third parties. The potential owner of the dog is the only one we will sell to. You will need to drive to us to near Moree (NW NSW), so you need to take this into account.

Chiencav is a small collection of quality Cavaliers which has been quietly achieving since 1976. All our dogs carry clear eye, heart and patella certificates. The eye and heart certificates are provided only by qualified veterinary cardiologists and ophthalmologists. We now also DNA test for curly coat/dry eye syndrome. The patellae certificates are provided by our local veterinarian using the internationally approved Putnam Scale. We only breed our bitches occasionally to quality dogs who also carry full clear health certification. Some superior quality pet puppies become available to loving homes at these times. Cavaliers are family pets, needing love and companionship, they are not suitable for life outside in a kennel.
