Going forward, any Dogs chosen for our Bitches will have been tested for the above. This breed is super versatile, so should have great natures & be sound for Lure Coursing, Agility, Obedience, Show Ring & most importantly, amazing companions! Sanyati Ridgebacks are situated on 10 acres in East Kurrajong NSW. We have been involved with Rhodesian Ridgebacks since 1984 when Kathy first began showing the breed in conformation. Now Sanyati is a second generation kennel, with daughter Ally taking over many of the roles. Our Ridgies are much loved members of the family, they live alongside Ally’s young children and are a part of our every day life, going to family outings and camping trips. We prove our dogs quality by taking them to shows to be assessed against others breeding with very consistent and pleasing results. We breed occasionally with a huge amount of forethought into the bloodlines and qualities we are after to continue our kennel and support our breed. All our dogs have had full DNA profiling and hip and elbow scoring to reduce and eliminate hereditary diseases from our lines. Our primary objective is to breed sound companions- to do this we source the best stud dogs for our girls- most recently travelling to Crufts in the UK and the World Dog show in Croatia to find the best. Our current companion is young Nellie related to our recently departed Aust Ch Ujamaa Alessandra Facchinetti (Allie) and Ujamaa Winx, daughter of Int Ch Vizara Jukati and Allie. I have a particular interest in genetic diseases and dogs we breed with are routinely screened for sound hips, elbows and degenerative myelopathy (DM). Some lines are also screened for cardiac issues by ultrasound and/or hypothyroidism. We also work with Cat Glenn and family- they are owned by Zuri and Rosie.
